In our first post, we introduced you to our "Little Hood" and put our initial lineup of stars on the pitch. Today, we’re opening up our development to show you exactly how Superkid X1 plays, what the vibe feels like, and how each match goes down.

The Core Loop: pure arcade mechanics 🎮
Superkid X1 is built to be fast, responsive, and immediately fun from the very first touch on the controller. You don’t need to memorize complex simulation tactics here; the secret is reflexes, intuition, positioning, and precision timing—just like in real street matches!
Our basic mechanics focus on ball control, snappy passing, and a shooting system. On top of that, we are designing a dynamic slide-tackle and interception system that makes defensive plays just as rewarding as scoring a goal.
The pitch is small, the pace is frantic, and the ball never goes out of bounds!
How the 1v1 matches work ⚔️
In Superkid X1, the 1v1 setup is a high-stakes, maximum-intensity duel between two players, but you aren't completely alone out there.
You and Your Partner: Each player controls one character and counts on the backup of an automated, fully customized goalkeeper to lock down your goalposts!
Constant Back-and-Forth: Because the courts are compact, a single mistake or a perfectly timed slide-tackle can instantly turn a defensive clearance into an immediate goal-scoring opportunity.
Fast Matches, Maximum Fun: The game is balanced to deliver quick, intense rounds, making it the perfect competitive experience for couch multiplayer sessions with friends or climbing the online ranks.
Unleashing the superpowers 💥
The real game-changers are the Superpowers. Every character has a unique ability that can completely alter the course of a match when activated at the exact right moment.
As we revealed before, you can use these powers offensively to tear through defense with lightning speed, or defensively to summon barriers that stop ultimate shots. The absolute key to victory is managing your energy bar wisely.

We are currently fine-tuning the ball physics and polishing the visual effects of the powers. In our next devlog, alongside our usual game updates, we are going to talk about Superkid X1 on the road to reveal the events where you can test the game live—and one of them is happening next week!
Between July 24th and 26th, Retrocon is happening in São Paulo, and you will be able to play the latest build of Superkid X1 right there at the event!
