New default movement mechanics for Vive

Hi Guys,

With some feedback i have changed the default movement on the Vive to be based off the controller position relative to where it was located when you first clicked the trigger. (as seen in Hover Junkers)

Hopefully it's a bit better.

Here is a video demonstrating the new movement.

I understand that orientation is still an issue, particularly when you are moving around and rotating around a lot, and have vive cables getting in the way! I'm still thinking about how we can make this better. It's my experience that just no one knows how to deal with this part very well yet, so it may take some experimentation. I think this is why we are seeing a lot of wave based shooters on the market, where you just don't have to move. Or games where you only have to walk in one direction most of the time.

Personally i find that having the chaperone bounds being drawn really helps in this situation. I have quite a small play space though so that's all probably subjective.

Thanks!
