Protonwar Patch - v0.12 - Wave after wave...

It's beautiful. It's like liquid it... slides all over everything. Comes up in waves. And they just kept hitting him, wave after wave.

Patch Notes:

"Project Holo" renamed to simply "Horde Mode"
Horde Mode added for Non VR and Seated VR!!! These modes will still require a bit more work for non vr or seated players as they are balanced for the standing mode. This will happen shortly :-)
Third Person mutator added! (only supported in Non VR or Seated VR currently)
AI path finding tweaked
AI low ammo behaviour re-written/fixed
Fixes for IK aim rotation being off
Menu optimizations
Particle systems optimizations

VR Movement Modes for Standing VR Explained

Please bare with us, as these are most certainly a work in progress. We will be starting to focus a bit more heavily on Locomotion and specific room scale vr tweaks over the next few weeks.
These options have been tweaked a little bit, to offer two options, under the menu you have an option, enabled by default "VR Movement From Marker"

This will act like so:
You press the trigger to "engage" the movement. A red dot shows up on the screen.
The movement is relative to this dot.
Release the trigger to reset this. (tip: don't hold it down all the time)

If this is disabled it will behave like so:
Press trigger to engage move
Movement will go towards to controller, relative to its location from the camera (this is the old system)

Choose whichever mode you feel more comfortable with.

Onwards and upwards
Over the next coming weeks, here is a teaser of some of the things we have planned:
Continued AI improvements
VR Locomotion revisit
Testing of both the nvidia branch and oculus branch of the engine to to see if improvements such as multi res shaders will be of any benefit to us
Weapon Wheel implementation
Improvements to Horde mode with some specific Horde mode weapons and a Shield for Standing VR modes
Standing VR dash instead of a teleport
Timelords/Freeze Tag for Standing VR

And finally a little birdy tells me that there are two new maps in the works. They won't be done for quite some time, but worth mentioning that work has begun on this

Happy Fragging!
