Character Selection! and standing vr game mode progress!

Hi Guys,

A bit out of the blue here as i had not planned to do this until a later date, but, anyway! ;)

I have now implemented runtime character model changing, this means you can now select from the Female and Male SciFi Soldier in the menu!

You can see a new shiney image of the models here:
ART!

Over the past few weeks i have been mainly working on finalising a lot of things, and tweaking the UI, and of course, squashing those bugs!
I also upgraded to the shiney new version of UE 4.12.2.

I also have had some time to do a bit more work on a mode that i have called "Project Holo".

Project Holo is a standing, room scale VR experience for the HTC Vive, it is a checkpoint based cover shooter mode against AI. (similar to Raw Data).
It's quite early days, (no character IK, multiplayer works, but will be wonky, only 1 map setup to use it) But, it is something that i am pretty excited to continue to work on once we can get Early Access out! :-)
At the current moment, it can be supported in any map with a little bit of work, but i would prefer to start making some custom maps for it.

How does "Project Holo" play?

You spawn at a start location with your default weapons, each map has 4 main combat area's. Inside these areas there are weapon spawns, and ammo spawns (weapons get better on later area's etc), health and armor spawns.
Each area will spawn waves of AI soldiers once you reach it, getting increasingly stronger as your progress through the waves. Once the waves are complete, the area gets marked as complete and you can move along to the next area which will contain better weapons and items, and harder enemies! :)

All very WIP at the moment, but all the base fundamentals are in and going. Currently this is using weapons from the base game, but some of these, particularly the more powerful weapons (eg sniper rifle) will need to be tweaked specifically for the mode :)

That is all for now, lots of progress behind the scenes, but still lots to do!

Thanks guys! <3 :)
GLHF!
