Changes in the game mechanics.
- The new system of protecting new players has been added in the game (look below).
Protection of new players
During the first game year (30 days IRL) the new player and all his avatars:
- cannot inflict damage to other players (buildings, ships, strekolets). His attacks simply won’t do any damage.
- cannot receive damage from other players (all settlements, ships and strekolets are protected by magic and do not receive any damage)
- cannot vote for the governor (their votes won’t count)
- can only learn lvl 1 of following skills: Pilotage, Piloting cargo ships, Piloting warships)
- will still be able to engage in PvP battles in the vicinity of the Isle of Reconciliation. Visit that place at your own risk.
- will be able to allow themselves to engage in PvP battles with the help of Letters of marque and reprisal. They will be able to attack other players with their avatars but be ready to be attacked by other players in return.
The rest of the game mechanics will stay intact – Buildings get older over time and lose their health; ships lose health by using damaged docking ports and by exceeding their maximum altitude as well as by being attacked by dragons. The players’ reputation will decrease when opening someone else’s containers, when not finishing jobs etc.
This is relevant to those who created their accounts AFTER 10:00 (UTC+0) August 17th 2016. The players who already have their accounts (even for less than 30 days), will not be affected by the new changes.
The update goes live at 10:00 (UTC+0) August 17th 2016.
Thank you, captains!
