A new feature has been added and some bug fixes and plugin updates.
Fixed issue with not being able to select VLC video plugin from the render paths.

And now the update. You can now view the desktop in Whirligig using desktop mirroring.
Thi is the first implementation of this so might have some bugs but I’ve tried to make it pretty simple to use.
Desktop mirror doesn’t work on Windows 7.
To use it you simply create a text file with the file extension dkp so for example desktop.dkp. Then open this file like any other video and it will start mirroring the desktop. It is recommended that you disable mouse support in the settings to allow you to operate you desktop and for example load up Netflix. I've also found that increasing the SuperSampling is quite beneficial here as well.

I little bit more about the desktop mirroring. I've been wanting to add this for a while as the ability to be able to watch something like Netflix or use an after effects comp and set it full screen to view back in the player seemed like a very powerful feature to add. The only problem I've had is not knowing how to implement it. Luckily I've found a plugin for Unity that does just this.

This great little asset has given me the ability to add this new feature and I hope with the help of the developer I can add new features in the future.
Just something to say. This isn't meant to be be a replacement for something like Virtual desktop or anything like that. It is and will be further developed into a video tool that will accompany Whirligig. I'm not going to try and make a version of Virtual desktop, those guys have already nailed that :) What I want to do is make it into a simple way to translate video and imagery to the player so that the production and playback tools can be used for things that can't easily be converted into a video. I'm thinking using it with photoshop for producing 360 degree images, after effects for comping and of cause Netflix and other online video playback services.
Regardless of the reasons behind the implementation of it I hope you like the new addition. Expect a more robust implementation of it in the near future and some good features that will complement it as well.
