While the OS X launch was super smooth, we sadly had some compatibility problems between the SSC and the hardware sound card on Windows. This Windows-only update switches the sound API to WASAPI exclusive mode, which should fix the "garbled sound" bug.
If you still encounter Windows sound issues after this update, please post your OS version and your hardware sound card in the forums. I'm here and happy to help .. but I need to know what to investigate ;)
