Just wanted to give you a quick update to our progress. We're starting to see the end of our first big update. I'll say right away it won't seem as huge to you as it does to us because we've made some major improvements to the engine and UI systems. The huge updates to the menus and the object systems I mentioned in the last announcement are almost complete. Ralf made incredible work rewriting the entire system and parts of our editor so we can give tracks a lot more life in the future. A few quirks remain but the bulk of the work is done. You'll only get a glimpse of what we can do with the new object system in the Liquid Hazard update but we think it is really cool.
Here's a few highlights of what is coming up:
- Liquid hazard 1: Water splashes! Physically accurate water areas that splash real good and feel awesome to drive through!
- Liquid hazard 2: Oil slicks! Small puddles of oil are best avoided!
- Nitro pickups! Go for the racing line or a well needed refill? Hard choice!
- Dynamic weather in the league mode: No race is the same anymore. No one knows what the weather gods will cook up for the next race!
- 2 new low-class cars which should provide more variety at the beginning of the game.
We don't have a date yet but a few weeks should give us plenty of time to wrap it up. For the daring, we could set up a beta channel to help us test this big update pretty soon! There will probably be bugs after such a huge update unfortunately.
Oh and one last note. We'll post screenshots and other stuff on our fresh new discord! Hop on in and join us! https://discord.gg/WgzcYPZ
