Dear Astronauts!
Two weeks ago, we announced the great news that we’ve signed up with publisher Wired Productions! We’re now deep in continuing development to bring you the final version of the game, complete with new graphic and localization upgrades and of course the DLC ending to our story! We’ve seen a few questions and comments fire across forums, so thought best to hold a mini Q&A – as always, we want to be as open and honest with you as possible at all times. So read on and if you have more questions, fire them in the comments!
Why have you pulled the game from Steam?
Working with Wired has allowed us to go back and not only complete the DLC, but also bring a whole new level of polish to the game. We launched in 2018 as a way to survive and fund completing the game, and now we have Wired, we’re able to do that beyond what we had dreamed of. There isn't a big conspiracy behind this, we simply wanted to stop the sale of the game to prevent any more confusion.
But no one else removes games from sale!
True, but Wired have given us the freedom to do this for the right reasons. Everyone who has supported us so far through purchase means to the world to us and truly helped get us this far. Now we want to make sure we deliver you the game you deserve and only sell/release the title to new gamers once it’s ready. The wish list button should be back up soon (a bug we’re waiting on Valve to help us fix). We kind of view it as an extension to kicker starter, you’ve helped us get to this amazing new territory and have a copy of the game no one else does! And we promise to deliver everything we said we would.
Yeah, but where’s my free DLC that you promised me?
Ok – yep, we said Q1… then Q2, and now we’re saying later this year. We really wanted the DLC out at the start of the year, but working with Wired presents us an opportunity to make this even better and we’re going to align it with the full retail release and all the graphic and localization updates. This content will now come as a patch to all users instead of a set DLC bundle. We could have released it earlier, there was a version, but already, after just a few weeks of new development, it’s moved beyond everything we had once hoped it would be.
Do I need to buy the game again then?
Nope! You’ve already supported us and we love you for it. Once the game goes back on sale, your copy of the Deliver us the Moon will be updated – you do not need to buy another copy!
So the DLC is still going to be free?
Every player who already owns the game, will get the DLC ending and all graphic and localization updates. Yep 😊
So the game will come back to steam?
Yep! It will be available to add to Wishlist again any day soon (the wish list not working was a surprise for us too) and we’ll be pushing again like a traditional launch.
What’s the deal with Fortuna/Tombaugh?
Back when we launched as we didn’t have ‘Tombaugh’ ready, so we named the title ‘Fortuna’ with a view of then launching ‘Tombaugh’ DLC later, which would complete the game. Now we’re bringing the final release to retail as well, we’re scrapping these names and will simply call the final game ‘Deliver is the Moon’. The once planned Tombaugh DLC (that you’ll all get) will simply be patched into the game at launch and won’t actually be DLC. You’ll simply have new levels to complete and continue to the story!
Will you launch a VR version?
Right now, no. It’s not in our current plans. Only some of the game is 1st person and it would take a lot to make the game VR friendly. VR was never a method we envision to aid telling the story and isn’t something we’re looking at right now
I supported you from day one – will I get anything else when the game launches?
As well as the new content and upgrades, we’re working with Wired to make sure you get a discount to the console versions and option to pick up the Collector’s Edition once it’s fully revealed. We’ll have more info on that soon and we have one or two fun surprises and cool things for you all planned as we head towards our new launch!
Cheers from the KeokeN & Wired Team
