V0.5.0 is here!

V0.5.0 is now live!

Hi Everyone!

The focus of this update was to fix several severe issues preventing people from properly playing the game. Planned new game modes are found below as well as plans for next weeks update.

Here are the main changes for V0.5.0:

  • Several Dad black screen issues have been fixed
  • New Item: Baby Restrainy - Allows you to pick up baby for brief periods of time. Breaks after 3 uses.
  • Blue screen issues should* be fixed
  • Many netcode improvements (Especially noticeable when picking up objects as client)
  • 64 Bit builds added for Linux and OSX: Will greatly improve stability for these platforms.
  • Many bug fixes and balance changes: See Detailed Changelog

Unfortunately this update is not impressive in terms of content, however a lot of networking back-end has been redone to prepare for spilt-screen mode and new game modes in general.

Planned Gamemodes!

There are currently 5 game modes planned to be released over time before the full release of Who's Your Daddy, they are as follows:

Daddy's Little Mistakes

  • 1 Daddy vs 2 babies
  • Babies win if either one dies
  • Daddy starts off with a pick-up ability, allowing him to hold one baby at a time

Daddy's Nightmare

  • Daddy's Nightmare is a mode intended for 4 players.
  • 1 Daddy is faced against 3 Babies
  • The goal is for the babies to kill the Daddy using various objects in the house
  • The power is out, meaning everything is dark. Daddy is given a flashlight to increase his view distance, at the risk of being seen
  • Daddy can win by surviving until mom gets home, or by turning on the power

The Hungry Games

  • 1-8 Babies are pitted against each other to survive as long as possible, either by hiding, fighting or whatever means necessary

The Great Dadlympics

  • 1-8 Dads compete to complete as many chores as possible within the time limit

Family Gathering

  • 1-4 Daddys vs 1-4 babies
  • Everything as normal, allows for more players
