Hello everyone! As a solo developer, I’m continuing to pour my heart into the world of Poolside. This update is a big one—focusing on making the atmosphere more dynamic, fixing those pesky physics, and adding new ways to survive your encounters with Phone Head.
Here is what’s new in V 1.44:
🧠 AI & Survival Mechanics
Phone Head is Listening: The creature now reacts when you shout. Silence is your best friend, but sometimes, you have to find your voice.
The "Like Button" Infection: Phone Head now radiates a "Like Button" disease. If you get too close, the infection will spread to you!

Your Voice as a Weapon: Use the [R] key to shout. Shouting now destroys nearby Like Buttons and gives you a desperate window to escape Phone Head's grasp.
No More Memorizing: Both Phone Head and loot lockers now spawn randomly across the maps. Every run is a fresh nightmare; you’ll never know what’s waiting behind the next corner.
🗺️ World & Storytelling
Echoes of the Past: To deepen the lore, I’ve added Flashback models and Pastel Drawings made by our main character throughout the map. Look closely at the walls—they might be trying to tell you something.

The "Smoking Kills" Tree: A mysterious new tree, deeply connected to the game’s story, has been rooted into the world.

The Exit Door: Finding the exit is now a more impactful experience. The redesign makes the moment of escape feel truly earned.

🛠️ Visual & Technical Refinements
Outline Shader: Never miss a loot item again. Interactable objects now have a subtle outline shader to help you navigate the environment.
Improved Movement: Ladder climbing animations have been speeded up for a more fluid gameplay experience.
Physics Fixes: I’ve finally tamed the toys! You will no longer be randomly flung across the room by chaotic toy physics.
Redesigned Asthma Inhaler: The previous model didn't meet the quality standards I wanted for this game, so I’ve completely redesigned it from scratch.
⚽ Extras
Emoji Balls: Basketballs have been replaced with 5 unique Emoji Balls. Even in the darkest pool, there's room for a little chaotic fun.

Developing this game alone is a journey, and your feedback is my biggest motivation. Please keep reporting any bugs you find. See you in the deep end...
