Patch Alpha 0.54 "Rule of 4"

Disclaimer: You will need to restart the game for the changes to take effect.

So I’ve scrapped the whole formula for everything out the window and made something a little more streamlined and informative.

Introducing the “Rule of 4”, the rule of 4 now allows every attribute contribute in someway to every statistic. Also we threw out the old attack formulas and have made a new statline known as “Expertise” expertise is essentially your attack/spell/utility power and you can see how much it is on the character sheet. You will notice higher damage from this result, but in return it’s a lot more balanced. All ally characters have had their base health upgraded by 500% to help accommodate the new stat changes. Enemy health will still stay the same and will make the combat go by a lot faster, but more dangerous if you get hit.

We’ve also implemented health regen and focus regen into every character, meaning you will generate health and focus while in combat on every turn, these stats can be upgraded by using the Rule of 4.

Another stat we’ve introduced is the toughness rating, the toughness rating now determines your chance of resisting combat effects such as bleeds, stuns, poisons, etc. All debuffs now will check against a target’s toughness before it can be applied.

New critical power stat has been added to determine how hard your critical strikes will hit.

We will be adding descriptions to all the attacks in the future so the player will know how much damage potential it has.

The rule of 4 is huge overhaul of the current battle and stat calculations, but has made great changes to the balance of combat.

Bug Fixes:

I tried to do as much as I can to fix the movement bug in combat where the character flips back and forth forever. I’m not sure if it’s fixed now, since I can’t duplicate the bug on my end. I’ve made some changes to the combat movement and I hope this will work. Also combat run speed has been increased by 20%.

Thank you,
