EA launch weekend update

Hi there! Firstly just want to thank everyone that's been playing the game since the launch. It's be awesome to checkout all your different base designs and to read your feedback and suggestions on the forum. It means a lot to know there are those out there that see potential in the project.

There's a lot of work to do, so thought I'd let you know some of the immediate things I'm currently working on, based on the continued feedback you guys have been giving:

Crashes when picking up items

Many reports of this. I know it really sucks! I'll be conducting tests and trying to get to the bottom of this one. It may be a little while until I can eliminate it, so I really appreciate your patience.

Suppressed by hunters

Players that have progressed very far, may have noticed the hunter presence is getting a bit much. I'll be making some changes for the next patch that has a more balanced roll-out to their progression, and how many hunter squads move into the world. If you are on a save where they have expanded across the map, unfortunately this won't remove those squads, although will dial down their ability to build up so quickly. Starting a new game will use the new tweaked hunter spawning system.

Caught in the fence!

Some players may have experienced getting trapped in areas of the fence. This can occur when the fence snakes around the geometry of the map (few problem areas). The fence pieces use a much larger collision plane then the actual mesh. This is used for a system that assesses camping spots for hunter squads. I'm getting this fixed right now and requires that I make an expansion on one side of the map (which happens fairly regularly).

I hope to get the new patch out this weekend. I know there are many more issues that need resolving (including a sweep to increase fps and some hud glitches), and I'll be getting to all of these in time. There's also several new systems in the works to add greater depth to the hunters and what they get up to.

I really do appreciate everyone that's been playing through the early access bugs and reporting on what needs fixing. This valuable feedback is exactly why I opened the EA and i'm truely greatful. I'll try to keep everyone updated as things move forward.

Cheers,
