Hey everyone! Klace here with an interesting but rather large development update.
The feedback so far has been rather consistent. Many people have stated that it seems like an entirely different person has written Chapter One, as the quality in Chapter Two is completely different. Even those that expressed a negative opinion of the game at launch, have come to appreciate Chapter Two for its change in quality and tone. There is one main reason for this:
Chapter One was written months ago.
Chapter Two was written more recently, taking in all the feedback I received at launch.
However, this means one important thing:
- There is a lack of consistency in the writing quality.
I apologize for this, and I am willing to acknowledge this fact completely. That is why I am doing a complete overhaul of the dialogue and text in Chapter One. I aim to increase the quality to match the rest of the game. This will bring a more consistent and enjoyable experience.
Though it's just a tiny example, you can see what I'm writing here:

The top picture is the old redundant dialogue.
The bottom picture is the newly written dialogue.
My aim is to trim the fat, make the dialogue appear less "pretentious", and increase the overall reading experience. What the characters say has been changed, as well as the internal narration of the protagonist. And this change is for the better, with a patch to hopefully come soon!
Examples of other changes:
- The man in The Ark no longer lectures you about the choices you just made.
- The internal narration is cut short to appear like less of a run on rant; and I have given effort to make the protagonist appear less boring initially.
- The "Klace worship" has been toned down completely. This was a narrative tactic to make his death more shocking, but some people found it annoying. I apologize for that.
I believe that this is a large step in the right direction to help the product become more enjoyable. This, alongside talking expression portraits will increase the quality of the game dramatically.
