Hey Community!
Klace here with a nice update on the state of things.
And a little bit more about the future plan of Major\Minor.
Please be warned that very minor spoilers may be present.
Especially as I reference the vision of the game moving forward.
The Current Situation:
Major\Minor was more successful than I ever could have dreamed. We've sold more copies than I ever imagined a furry visual novel on Steam would; and we've only been on here for a little over two months! That's pretty amazing. Fortunately, as we are an episodic title with things subject to change -- I am able to use the revenue from this to create a bigger and better title.
First of all, we have made enough for me to purchase alternating expressions from the artist. When these will be implemented will be touched on later. Fox Amoore has also agreed to provide music for the studio whenever needed. It is a great honor to have these two people willing to work with me full time, and I will continue to put my heart into all of the writing to hopefully match the quality of their astounding work. This is a dream trio for me, and I hope we do well.
I'm also going to be converting some housing into office space to hopefully give the studio a physical home. I think this is a huge leap forward for me and the future of TTS.
What is TTS?
TTS is the new name of our studio.
It stands for "Tall Tail Studios".
It's a little animalistic pun on our emphasis for storytelling.
I'm really proud of this name, and will have the artist create a logo.
It will be the brand on all of our games moving forward.
It will consist of:
- Myself
- PawziClawzi
- Fox Amoore
Future of TTS? Are More Games Coming?
Absolutely!
As long as there is a market for good stories to tell -- we will provide!
And we will do so with some of the best music and art in the fandom.
It's too early to formally announce the next project, however.
Right now I would like to focus on Major\Minor and it's vision.
Is Major\Minor Changing?
For the better, yes!
I'd like to think that the new expressions will make the visual aspect much better.
However, I also vie to amplify the storytelling and audio aspects as well!
Fox Amoore WILL be making more music for Major\Minor.
The exact amount and types of tracks remains to be seen, however.
The more exciting announcement in this regard is the change to storytelling.
Storytelling Change?
Indeed! The game has been so successful that I am now able to devote extra time and effort into the writing, and hopefully make TTS my livelihood as we move forward in development. This is an extremely exciting thing for me, as I've always dreamed of making my living while writing.
This brings about a couple of interesting changes.
Let's rewind to Chapter Three, where we had to choose between the Mercenaries or the Assassins. A tough choice for some, but there will be permanent ramifications.
Here's a small example of what I mean:
Let's assume that we make our return to Terra in Chapter Six. It's my goal that no group of people play through the same Chapter Six. This means that I will write two entirelly different Chapter Six scripts. One for "The Path of the Mercenary" and one for "The Path of the Assassin"
Without spoiling anything, there will also be choices in the Earth storyline that will branch this storyline as well. So moving forward, people will be experiencing entirely different chapters for each world based on their choices. I just wanted to wait until both worlds were established in their stories before I started shelling out huge branches. I wanted all of the essential information to be placed in front of the player before sending them on their own separate paths.
However, because of this "multiple chapter" introduction, the timeline of release will change.
Alongside with implementing all of the expression changes, the chapters will no longer be on a month to month basis. I would like to do this, but it wouldn't make sense to release Chapter 6-A on one month, and Chapter 6-B on another month, effectively shutting out half of the players for an entire month based on their choices. I'm going for all-inclusion, here.
When Does Chapter Four Release?
Chapter Four is still on schedule for a release in March.
But March also marks the completion of the alternate expressions.
So I will likely devote myself to re-working the four chapters present.
It will take a while to put in all of the expression changes, however the quality of the game will increase substantially. It is something I would love to call a very constructive delay.
So here is a rough new timeline:
March: Chapter Four Release
March/April: Chapters One Through Four Receiving Expressions
After that, I will release the next content on an "as finished basis".
However, I don't see it taking any longer than 1-2 months.
As the workload for chapters moving forward has only effectively doubled.
I don't see it taking any longer than 8 weeks.
As opposed to the original 4.
However, the quality of the visual, audio, and storytelling aspects will increase substantially.
I am very glad that everything is falling into place this way.
And I can't wait to take you all on an incredible journey.
