Hello!
There have been several reports of "wars" raging on in the community based on differences of opinion. I want to make it clear that I do not condone these actions, and I believe they should cease immediately. The Major\Minor community should be a place where everybody is free to speak their mind without fear of repercussion. If someone doesn't like the game I've created, that's fine -- it's not for them. If someone does like it? Great. Maybe it's just their cup of tea.
Attacking and harassing someone over their opinion is never okay.
Making somebody feel victimized over liking or disliking a product is not okay.
This goes both ways, and to both parties involved.
In the future, please treat others with respect.
If you can look past a small difference in opinion -- you may find a friend.
It is wrong to discredit and hurt somebody based on one small fact.
That is my advice on the first group of people.
These people I would consider rational.
They aren't out to cause hurt -- they just want to voice their opinion.
But on the other hand, we have several individuals whose hatred for this product and myself has escalated to a level that would be considered abnormal. I have been victim to quite a few stalkers over the last few months. They obsessively chronicle my actions. In fact, my personal information was leaked back in around January. I have since moved cities.
But this does not make the actions of these individuals acceptable.
They feed off of a response. They live with a malicious intent.
They forge chat logs, create screenshots, make up stories. All with the intent to stir up a reaction from the community -- and they get some sort of gratification from this. There are those that are addicted to their campaigns against this game in a way that makes me worry for their mental health. There are those that just can't seem to "stop".
While about 90% of the community is rational in their actions, and can be talked to in a civil manner -- even creating long-lasting friendships when you look past their opinions; there are those that would be considered irrational.
In this case, the best course of action is to ignore them.
Do not feed the trolls as they say.
It will be easy to discern which type of person you are talking to.
Simply stop and think about what your next course of action should be.
What is best for the community? What is best for you?
A lot of times, the answer may be to simply not respond.
And it is never okay to victimize someone for their opinion.
