Update v1.25

WARNING: Terrain generation has changed to address issues listed below! If you load your game in a bad spot, select "Location Rescue" from the pause menu. You may need to set a new Backup location.

  • Spawn point rework: should reduce bots ending up underground, especially around roads. Objects shall also be placed in better areas.
  • Buildings: flattened areas around buildings & increased chances of them being properly populated.
  • Pilot & vehicle improvements: you can now control ship speed by holding forward or backwards. Pilot skill points will now affect the ship's health and damage (subject to future balancing).
  • Reworked how headquarter leaders are spawned: should be more reliable.
  • Reduced weight of health & energy consumables.
  • Tweaked skill explanations to be more informative.
  • Surveyors will now continue to spawn late in the game, alongside Collectors. Collectors will no longer give conversion points.
  • Items will drop to the ground after a headquarters building gets destroyed.
  • Fixed ambient occlusion to be more consistent across different resolutions & in virtual reality.
  • Updated LWJGL 3 / GLFW libraries (should fix a 32-bit error with glfw32.dll).
  • Added a "no players created!" dialog when trying to join a multiplayer game with no saved players to join with.
  • Fixed 2 rare crashes: one in TeslaCoil.canZap (seen on death) & during physics object creation for turrets.
  • Fixed player not getting damaged from beams.
  • Fixed vehicles flying off wildly when in virtual reality.
  • Various small virtual reality improvements, like not blurring the menu when underwater or tweaks to the Vive weapon/hand pose.

There is a known "screen goes black" problem when playing in virtual reality, and I think it is related to the shadow effect after playing for awhile. If you have this problem, restart the game & disable the shadow effect. I'm hoping to find & fix this as quickly as possible...

Thank you again for your support & feedback!

EDIT: Small update on Windows today (2/26/2016) adjusts the launch script to better run on 32-bit machines.
