One is titled "Carrot Heaven" and the other was a screenshot capturing the moment a player regretted pulling out his fishing pole near the guards! Bierbaron's RP Event: Ravensguard VS Thiefsguild
Steam user Bierbaron is organising an epic Role-Playing event in The Black Death. There will be three different factions that you can be a part of. Bierbaron has also created some amazing recruitment posters in the olde Medieval style, take a look below and pick a faction today! Full details and sign up can be found over on Bierbaron's Steam post in the Lore & Role Playing sub forum. Below is the information for all three factions.
Faction: Ravensguard / The Raven's Reach Guards
Leader: The new Sheriff or Lord Commander of Ravens Reach (maybe a knight)
Sergeants and men: Knights, militia and blacksmiths (in uniform)
Informants and spies: Merchants, monks (mainly people with a "good reputation")
Base: Ravens Reach Keep gate and arena
The Ravens Reach Guards who patrol the streets and alleyways. The city is big and full of people, so these men and women will be risking their lives every day to keep what little order and justice is left in Raven's Reach, until the punishment of god is the true ruler of the capital and all of Mercia.
Faction: Thiefsguild
Leader: A unscrupulously, brutal outlaw or beggar, or a evidently "merchant"
Bats, pimps, and thief's: Outlaws, militia, beggars (could be any profession)
Informants and spies: beggars, merchants (mainly people with a rather opportunistic setting)
Base: Pub at the Main gate or a secret place in or among the city
The Thiefsguild were always there, hiding in the shadows for a good opportunity to get their share. No criminal action in Raven's Reach takes place without their knowledge. Even in the times of the Plague, a beggar must eat, the business in the alleys must run. While the Black Death causes much despair and hopelessness, there is hope for those who have nothing and are ready to risk everything on the streets for a good coin. Even the guards will accept that there will only be one real ruler in Raven's Reach besides the Plague.
Faction: The City Life
There should be as many people as possible to Role Play as the townsfolk. Such as selling items at the markets, playing in the theatre, praying in the church, begging, stealing, murdering, drinking in the tavern or simply crafting and gathering in a role playing style. With the Townsfolk as a backdrop they will help to build the environment where the plot between the Queensguard and Thiefsguild. This will all come together to create some great role playing action.
SIG Thoughts:
We do like the idea of the Thief's Guild hiding out under the Tavern in Raven's Reach plotting their next move against the guards and overthrowing the kingdom!
With the Role Play of the Raven's Reach Guards against the Thief's Guild going on having the "City Life" would be amazing. This would really add to the world of Mercia and really bring out the feeling of despair and poverty, whilst having a glimmer of hope for the townspeople rebuilding what they lost.
Roleplaying from the perspective of either a Guard of Raven's Reach, a Thief in the Thief's Guild or a part of the townsfolk, there would be 3 different storylines going on here from 3 different perspectives. This would be make some great World building for the Lore and Story of Mercia.
The Ravensguard could operate mostly in the day hours making sure that order is kept through the streets and back alleys. They could also talk with the players that are Role Playing as the City Folk and create conversation such as asking them if they have seen anything suspicious happening around the town. The City Folk (being a neutral faction) could choose to work with the Ravensguard and be the “good” humble citizens of Raven’s Reach or they could work for the Thiefsguild secretly and be given rewards based on what information they can find like a secret alliance.

Every resident will be needed to achieve this great task. Our proud city will be once more the jewel of Mercia with gods help and the hard righteous work of its pious citizens. Once more the glorious Ravens Reach will survive!
