Hello everyone,
The day is finally here. After months of balancing, polishing, and listening to all of your wonderful feedback, I'm absolutely thrilled to announce that Drifting Dots has officially launched on Steam!
This has been a true labor of love, and seeing it out in the world is an incredible feeling. To everyone who played the demo, participated in a playtest, or just wishlisted the game—thank you. Your support and insights have been invaluable in shaping the game into what it is today.
Launch Updates & Improvements
We're not just launching the game you've played before. Based on fantastic community feedback, I've made some important adjustments to make the experience even better:
Mantra Cost Rebalance: I've done a full balance pass on the Insight costs for many Mantras in the Stream of Memory. The goal was to make the meta-progression feel smoother and more rewarding, especially in the early game. Your journey to unlocking the full potential of The Cascade should feel more satisfying than ever.
Minor Fixes: A handful of small bugs have been squashed and some audio cues have been polished to make everything feel just right.
Celebrate With a Launch Discount!
To thank you for your support and to welcome new players into the fold, Drifting Dots is launching with two special offers:
A 20% Launch Discount! For the entire first week, you can get the game at a reduced price. There’s never been a better time to take your first drop.
The JLau Games Collection! If you enjoy the style of Drifting Dots, you can grab all of my games in one package. The bundle gives you an additional 15% discount on top of any active sales. If you already own one of my other titles, don't worry—the "complete the set" feature means you'll still get the discount on Drifting Dots!
New to the Cascade?
If this is your first time hearing about Drifting Dots, welcome! It's a minimalist physics roguelite designed for short, satisfying 15-minute runs. The idea is simple: drop droplets, watch the gentle chaos, create powerful synergies with hundreds of upgrades, and lose yourself in a generative soundscape that reacts to your every move. It’s a game about finding your flow.
I truly hope it brings you a moment of calm, focus, and joy. This is just the beginning, and I can't wait to hear what you think.
Thank you for everything, and enjoy The Cascade!
All the best,
JLau Games
