Tremendous Threes
Wow, another year and another amazing birthday for HEX. Yes, we have reached YEAR THREE! It is hard to believe, and even harder to believe how much progress we have made over the past 12 months. With the introduction of our first major piece of PVE content, the launch (finally) of our 4th set, Primal Dawn, and the thrilling introduction of eSports to the game with our HEX Invitational, it has been a huge year. And I know the next year is going to be even bigger and better!
I was looking at last year’s birthday update in preparation for writing this, and one thing I realized was it talked a lot about the past and how we got here. So rather than re-hash that, I will talk more about the future and where HEX is heading. Of course in the last update, I also spent some time thanking everyone, and it just wouldn’t feel right if I didn’t do that again… so, my special thanks to everyone playing the game for their dedication and passion. It has been remarkable to see the community continue to grow. The content currently generated by HEX players is stunning, I am always amazed by the tournaments, streamers, writers, and everything else our community brings to the game.
So, to the future of HEX. In the immediate future we will be launching our ladders and ranking system! This is a feature I have been very excited about and looking forward to for quite some time and cannot wait for it to launch. We will also include other much anticipated stuff in this patch, such as the Spectral Oak / Spectral Acorn and some very nice quality of life changes to the pass priority interface.
After that, we have Set 5 and Adventure Zone 2 on the way, and I am thrilled to say both are shaping up to be great. I want to say again we are committed to launching a new PVP set every 4-5 months and will be looking to make that happen moving forward. We understand how important it is to keep the PVP content fresh and we have made it a priority and are on track for just that with set 5. And speaking of PVP, we hope to announce our next big eSports event in the near future.
Also, we will be FOR SURE announcing your new Community Manager next week! EXCITEMENT!
Let me finish this by thanking you again for your dedication to HEX and for traveling with us on this long road from great concept to finished game, clearly many of the steps are ugly and difficult but slowly we are getting there.
So let’s see the next piece of our 10 YEAR LONG birthday themed adventure comic, and what nefarious plan the Pinatoos King is hatching…
This year’s comic begins on page 12 and is the theme for the 3rd Birthday sleeve (seen above). Each player will receive this commemorative sleeve as long as they had an active account before June 5th, 2016.
Love, Cory
