BLACK SCREEN AFTER LOADING?
Some players have been reporting that the game cuts to black and freezes after showing the logos at the start of the game. This issue is related to an external plugin we use to communicate with the Steam platform (stuff like the workshop, multiplayer, etc.). This plugin is a core part of our codebase.
Predominantly Mac users seem to be affected because the plugin is no longer able to work with older versions of OSX, specifically versions older than and including OS X Mavericks 10.10.5. This causes the game to crash as soon as the plugin is loaded. Upgrading your OS to a newer version should resolve the issue. You can download the latest version for your system from the Mac Appstore.
It is still unclear why this bug happens on Windows systems. We are working together with the author of the plugin towards a solution. If you experience this bug on a Windows system, please send us your log files so we may further pin down the issue.
In short:
- If you use a Mac and experience this issue, upgrading to a newer version of the operating system should resolve the issue
- If you use Windows and experience this issue, hang tight. We are still looking for a solution. You can help us by sending your log files.
