Hi Altspacers ~
Thanks for coming out to the first presidential debates streamed live inside virtual reality co-hosted with NBC News!
We had a great time and loved every one of your tweets of appreciation and your VR selfies. We love your enthusiasm and being a part of the community. For new Altspacers, Welcome!
This watch party is a first in a lineup of programs we’ll be co-hosting as a part of election coverage inside virtual reality. More programming with NBC News up to election night can be found at altvr.com/nbcnews. We hope to see you at our next event this Thursday with political pundit Steve Kornacki.
We also heard your feedback, and would like to address it:
Some of you could not get into the watch party. Apologies for those of you that had some challenges entering VR. We found a fix and will will work to ensure you can make it into the next debate. Many of you experienced low volumes on YouTube during the watch party. We resolved the issue for Gear VR and Mac users in the middle of the debates. PC users were still impacted. We are looking into solutions across all platforms for the next watch party. So stay tuned. There were reports of some users being excessively loud.We are expecting some people to talk, as long as they adhere to our community standards. However, if you want a quiet experience, we encourage you to watch the debates in a private hosted activity. To create a hosted activity, click on the menu in AltspaceVR, then click the “hosted activity” button, and choose to watch a debate watch party as a Republican, Democrat, or Other. If you have anything else you’d like to share - what you loved or what you’d like to see more of - let us know in the comments below!
See you at the next live VR event,
Lisa, Community Manager
