Feedback Highlights from our Community

We want to share with you some of the feedback we have received so far from our community through our different channels. We follow the Steam forum closely and pay attention to all the user reviews we get. We have also made it possible to provide us more detailed feedback through a Google form questionnaire, or just by rating us when leaving the game.

To get a sense if we are on the right track, we ask our community to evaluate their experience and here are some of the results.

And from the exit screen where its possible to rate the game between 1 to 5 stars we score 4.98 in overall.

Individual story rate a bit low 3.29, and art pretty high 4.19.

We can’t help to notice the ongoing discussions, about if Wartile should be a turn based game.

Our goal and vision with Wartile is and have always been to the make a strong table top inspired game that keeps the action going, if this means it’s more or less one genre than another, is not our main concern.
We aim to create a unique, fun and exciting game experience that everyone can enjoy, regardless of their favorite genre.

Another interesting topic, is if the game is to hard. We aim to find a balance that give most people a good challenge without blocking anyone from completing the first difficulty stage.

For those who really want to challenge their inner Viking and unlock some unique items we have we have introduced 2 additional difficulty stages, that will unlock when when the one before is completed.

Was it to Hard?

During closed alpha we where surprised to learn that most players really appreciated a real challenge, and this is something we aim to create. We are aware that creating a good challenge is not only about enemies with strong weapons and crazy stats, but also changes to their tactical navigation and use of their abilities, something we aim to improve in the future.

From the graph we can see that maybe the initial difficulty on the first difficulty stage is a bit to steep and unforgiven. We will try to identify the difficulty checkpoints of the current battle boards and ease it out a bit. Regarding the unlock-able difficulty stages we aim to leave them as true challenges, enticing you to earn experience and better equipment by crossing over from on board to another.

When asking our community how we should prioritize moving forward, we clearly see two major areas on more playable content and better navigation and deeper combat choices. (please not that the Co-op question was added only a few hours ago.)

Without going into details on what we plan for our next update, we can already reveal, without spoiling anything, that its more playable content, more varied class abilities, and better communication of the effect of combat modifiers during combat.

Finally we will just pull out a few questions and quotes from the google questionnaire.

-Will there be more / loadable main maps? ->
Yes we have more than three on the drawing board.

-Will there be more creatures? Wolves, trolls, etc.? ->
Yes, we also have a few of those on the drawing board.

Can my team have a wolf? ->
Yes, but we have not introduced that Viking class yet :)

-Random boards or a board editor to create custom scenarios? ->
Maybe we will look into this in the future.

Really enjoying this, although I'm only about an hour and a half in. I didn't quite know what to expect from the steam page - this seems like a difficult game to promote. It absolutely exceeded my expectations! You guys did a great job and I hope the game does very well for you. ->
Thanks, and yes it is and we also hope so :)

Backgrounds needed - even if only "moody skies" etc! ->
We hope to add more a bit more life into the environment. Like birds, the shadow of moving clouds on the ground, a moving mountain goat, fish jumping in the water etc.

What about make some improvement on menu UI. I means it is too box style ->
Yes we know. Currently we focus on improving and polish core game play features, and will slowly improve art all around.

Wartile is promising, extremely so. Stealth, ranged, siege warfare, mounted combat, seafaring, narratives, skill usages... the list is endless on what could be accomplished. It's merely up to the devs to reign it in and capture that essence. For now, at it's base stage. They/you have done a brilliant job. ->
Thanks a lot for the nice words. It is very motivating when our players appreciate the game and can see how the Wartile universe can expand.

For now we will log out, go home and be with the family we hope everyone enjoy the game and have a nice weekend.

Kind regards

The Wartile Team
