Mac and Linux versions are coming this Friday

Starting with Alpha 15, which will release this Friday, NeuroVoider will be cross-platform and available on Mac and Linux (including SteamOS).

We have been working lately on a whole new build of the game and spent time improving our tools and production pipeline. It took us time, but we are happy with the results: the NeuroVoider code is now fully cross-platform and we only have to build it once to generate all platforms. It's a big time saver.

This means that all versions will always be up-to-date and will release at the exact same time.

If you wish to know more about what took us so long, the original Windows build was using DirectX (and WMA for the musics), while the Mac & Linux one uses OpenGL (and OGG for the musics). This implied a lot of maintenance time and if we wanted to release on all platforms every Friday, we would have loose a lot of time (which we would have not been able to spend on game features). But since December, we've been reworking everything so that there is only one single build to maintain, the OpenGL one. The Windows version will no more use DirectX, NeuroVoider is now the same on every platform.

This new build has some cool perks: the game is now compatible with Windows XP & Vista (requires a compatibility with OpenGL 3.3), and having Windows Media Player installed is no more a requirement.

Happy NeuroVoiding!
