I'm pleased to share the very first slice of Low Earth Orbit Adventures with you in the form of a demo, available now for free!
Low Earth Orbit Adventures is a relaxing space sim set in the near future at an epoch moment in history where space tips over from being a place we visit to a place we live. Imagine there are 1500 scientists and explorers in space. At 1499 they can do the plumbing themselves but at 1501 they need a dedicated plumber... and a doctor... and a mechanic. Space is all about those small steps representing big leaps!
That's the vibe I'm going for in LEO Adventures - you are the first handy-person in space.
LEO Adventures is a small game but it is ambitious. I struggle to play with Newtonian space flight physics in games as I find the learning curve very steep and there are a lot of keyboard commands to remember but I love them (and shows like The Expanse and Star Cops). Generally, my design philosophy is "pick up and play" so I really wanted to challenge myself to try and make a really accessible Newtonian game. Have I succeeded? Well, let's say I already have suggestions on the next round of updates!
The demo is one mission ... rescuing astronauts from a stricken space plane. It shows off the basic gameplay (select your tool, potter around space, help people). I hope you enjoy it enough to wishlist the game. if you like what I do, please buy my other games and/or tell your friends. I'd love to make more games and bigger games.
