📢 Inquisitor Shepherd NEW Devlog - [September 2026]

Hello.
This is Narrowdeep, the developer of Inquisitor Shepherd.
We made a great deal of progress on the full game this month.
However, we have run into one small problem.
The more we make, the less we can actually show in our devlogs. 😂
The sections we are currently working on are where the events of Chapter 2 begin to unfold in earnest, and many of the questions raised so far start connecting directly to the truth behind the case.
Even showing a single background or prop could reveal more than we would like, so for this devlog, we have carefully picked out a few things that are relatively safe to share.
There is a lot we want to show, but not much we can
Over the past month, we have spent a significant amount of time working on the full game, particularly Chapter 2.
We have continued refining the flow of the case and its deduction structure, while also creating the evidence, scenes, and presentation that will appear in the actual game.
Until now, we have been able to share work-in-progress backgrounds and character art fairly freely, but that is becoming a little more difficult.
Many of the scenes we are currently making connect directly to the truth behind the events introduced in the demo.
As developers, we naturally want to show off everything we have been making as soon as possible, but we think these parts will be much more enjoyable if you encounter them for the first time in the finished game, so we are trying to keep them hidden for now.
Still, we could not make an entire devlog without showing you anything, so we prepared a few things we can safely share this month.
We have been working on a lot of new illustrations
Recently, we have been creating several new illustrations.
Some of them will appear in the full game, while many are also being prepared for a new demo trailer.
(Of course, these are also scenes that will appear in the full version.)
We are preparing new scenes that can better showcase the characters, deduction elements, and slightly strange atmosphere of Inquisitor Shepherd compared to our previous trailer.
The new trailer will still take some time to complete, but for now, we would like to share a few of the new illustrations that contain relatively few spoilers.

Whenever we have more artwork that is safe to share, we will continue showing it little by little through future devlogs.
We are aiming for a new demo update in November
We are currently making another round of improvements to the rebuilt demo that we presented at BIC.
Our current goal is to release the updated Steam demo in November.
Rather than simply uploading the BIC build as-is, we plan to fix issues we discovered through further playtesting and polish several areas before releasing it.
And there is one particularly noticeable change coming with this update.
Shepherd is getting a voice
In our previous devlog, we mentioned that we were reviewing voice samples for the Japanese voice acting.
Production has now moved into the actual recording stage, and voice work for several sections of the demo is currently underway.
Hearing characters who have existed only as text for so long actually speaking to one another has been a surprisingly new experience for us as well.
We are especially excited to hear how Shepherd, the character players will spend the most time with, will ultimately sound.
The completed Japanese voice acting will be included in the new demo that we are currently preparing for November.
Please look forward to hearing Shepherd's voice.
Many of you played the demo at BIC

A lot of players tried the rebuilt demo during the BIC Online Festival.
Thanks to all of you, Inquisitor Shepherd recorded the second-highest number of downloads among the games in the online exhibition.
It was a very encouraging result for us to see so many people play the newly rebuilt demo.
Once again, thank you to everyone who played the demo and shared your feedback with us.
Closing
This month, we created a lot of new content, even though there was not much of it we could actually show in this devlog.
As development of the full game continues, we expect this may happen more often.
However, we will continue preparing things we can share without spoilers, including new illustrations, the new trailer, and Japanese voice acting.
Our next major goal is the new demo release in November.
We will continue working on the full game while preparing to show you a slightly different Inquisitor Shepherd from what you have seen so far.
Thank you for your continued support.
