Hello dear players!
The developer of the Burned One project, HELIX741, is in touch, and here is the long—awaited devlog of the future version 6.0.0, which you will soon be able to touch manually. As you probably already realized, we didn't just click the counter. Versions 5.8.8 and 5.8.9 went through beta testing, collected feedback, and all this formed the basis for the largest update since the release of the project.
We didn't just add content. We've rebuilt the foundation, deepened the plot, expanded the language of the world, and created new rules for survival.
Plot: logic, sequence, consequences
We have conducted a complete revision of the narrative:
Inconsistencies between the choices and the text have been fixed: now your every action is honestly reflected in dialogues and events.
Fixed logical bugs that prevented diving: choices that could not be made in the "forced selection" mode were triggered if the player… Top1 in clicker mini-games. Persistent attempts to choose a forbidden option won at some point; the consequences did not coincide with the actions. It won't happen anymore.
The plot is complemented by forks and new dialogues with previously silent characters — the world has become more alive.
There are new variants of Voyla's death, each with a unique atmosphere and reason. Death here is not the end, but part of the story. Unless you're playing HARD mode, of course, but we'll talk about that later.
Voyla's journal has also been updated: new pages with reflections and traces of the past have been added. And the backpack now has a "Examine yourself" section to identify insect bites, the appearance of which directly depends on the chosen difficulty of the passage.
New mechanics: survival has become more difficult — and more interesting
Choosing the difficulty
For the first time, the game has a difficulty system. The default setting is easy, but as you progress (after completing the first five chapters and a number of side quests) You can choose from: easy, medium, difficult, IMPOSSIBLE. This affects not only the physical condition of the hero, but also the operation of the save system, access to some hints, and even the likelihood of insect bites (but we'll talk about this later).
Weight and storage
Now each item in the backpack has a weight that affects the number of items that the hero can take. But we didn't leave you in the Wasteland without help: the mechanics of caches appeared. Hide the excess in a shelter and pick it up later. The inventory has also become wider — instead of 49 slots for each type of item, there are now an unlimited number of them, and the only thing that will stop you from grinding items is their weight. By the way, not everyone has it, but for the most part only such subjects can have a LOT. Story items/ quest items/collectibles, etc. They do not relate to this nuance.
Metal Detector
New interactive mechanics: Search for hidden objects underground. Not everything that glitters is metal. But you may need everything you find. Finds can be sold in specially designated places >
Currency and trade
A story currency has appeared in the world that can be earned, found, or exchanged. Use it in shopping areas, part of a special side quest where a pawnshop appraiser and a metal depot worker are waiting for you. Bargain.
Inventory and interaction
The "Use" button is now available directly in the inventory — for first-aid kits, tools, and items.
The first-aid kit has gained full functionality: treatment is no longer an abstraction, but a conscious action at the right moment.
The interface has become visually cleaner: the font has been updated (including the numbers in the backpack), readability on maps and navigation has been improved.
The flicking of the backpack disappeared during the transitions — a trifle, but it broke the immersion.

Side quests: deeper, more difficult, more meaningful
About five new side quests and one special (trading area) have been added.
The hints have been refined so that you, the players, can navigate more precisely in all areas of the game and its mechanics: many said that they lacked a little chewing on verbal guides.
The navigator app interface with new icons
Interface: convenience, interactivity, informative
PDA: Your island of order in chaos
The PDA has become a full-fledged device:
Change the wallpaper,
Drag and drop icons (the click works under the text),
Hide icons in the navigator app by type or all at once,
New application: GaloWeb — browser simulation with ent, news, hidden pages, supports even typing in a light (or heavy...) state alcohol intoxication. Or if you have a tremor,
The works of the community have been added to the wallpaper change section as part of the interactive channel.

Card Game: From bugs to strategy
There were a lot of hidden bugs in the card game, which were revealed only at the beta testing stage of 5.8.8, read more about them:
You could put any number of cards on the table until someone ran out of them. Now there can only be 6 pairs of cards on the table at a time, just like in the original Fool,
AI is not perfect yet, its code is written in a kind of algorithm and sequences, but it has become smarter — it takes into account the odds and plays smart,
The work and mechanics of the 21-point game have been updated, now the game complies with the canonical rules, it is possible to hold the move (save), and the AI chooses whether to pass or not,
Added a visual reduction of the deck - now you can see in full size how many cards are left in the deck,
Added dialogues between characters during the game session,
Previously, there was a problem that even if a player threw off all his cards (supposedly winning), he was losing. Now this nuance has been eliminated, and the processing of draws, wins and losses in the session is working correctly,
The betting mechanic has been added as one of the ways to receive in-game currency in an easy way, but with certain risks. You can place a bet 3 times a day, and the counter is updated every day, returning the number of bets to three,

Localization: The New World speaks all languages
We have added full support for 5 new languages.:
Belarusian, Ukrainian, German. (Polish and Romanian in future updates)
To do this, all fonts were redrawn manually, including rare characters and diacritics.
The English translations have been edited for accuracy.
The glossary is supplemented with missing terms (they were not added to the build, or they were missing and they were added as new in principle)

Architecture: A Quiet Revolution under the Hood
The variable loading system now automatically updates old saves — no manual resets.
Inventory and list initialization has been rebuilt for stability in future updates.
All "imagebutton" have been replaced with standard "buttons" with text — this simplifies localization, speeds up loading and makes the code cleaner.

Conclusion
Version 6.0.0 is not just about "more content". This is a new level of meaningfulness: every mechanic has a reason, every choice has a consequence, and every language has respect for the player.
I'm not afraid to complicate the game, because I believe that you deserve a world where every detail makes sense.
Thank you for your attention to devlog, your HELIX741.
