A big thank you!
Version 0.2 of IdleZomb was released this Monday, and I’ve already started receiving feedback.
Honestly, considering the current size of the game and the number of players, I wasn’t really expecting to see comments coming in so quickly, and it genuinely means a lot to me.
Seeing that some players are happy to follow the game’s evolution and to see that it’s still moving forward — not abandoned — is incredibly motivating. Thank you for that.
So, what’s next?
So far, no major bugs have been reported, which allows me to move forward calmly with the next step of development.
I’m now focusing on version 0.3, which will be the second major content update for the game.
In terms of timing, I’m aiming for a delay similar to the one between the game’s release and version 0.2, roughly three to four months.
Now that I have a better understanding of my development pace and clearer boundaries on what I can realistically deliver without burning out, I prefer to stick to a reasonable and manageable schedule.
What’s planned for version 0.3:
– Continuing the visual additions, with new decorations, as well as the evolution of zombie classes, which will reach their second stage in this update.
– The core of version 0.3: the addition of a second gameplay loop, designed to make the experience less frustrating and more interactive.
This loop will revolve around progressive events and an item collection system, paired with a museum, to expand the lore and add more depth to progression.
– And of course, a few surprises that I’m still keeping under wraps.
And after that?
As with version 0.2, there will be a short phase of fixes and adjustments after the release of version 0.3.
After that, the goal will be to prepare a limited demo version of the game.
A demo had initially been planned earlier, but I decided to postpone it. After some thought, even with version 0.2, the game still didn’t feel complete enough to properly represent itself through a free version.
With version 0.3 and the addition of a second gameplay loop, this weakness should be addressed, making a demo finally relevant and achievable, if everything goes as planned.
Thank you again to everyone supporting the project and following its development.
The road ahead is still long, but steady… and your zombies are far from resting yet 🧟♂️
