Holy crap, thank you to all the people who played One Way To Die on Steam! It was better received than we expected for such a simple game, and one that was never intended to be anything other than a casual, little, frustrating waste of time. We have more downloads than all other outlets combined and over 500,000 play-throughs in the first 24 hours!
Aside from that, there have been a few notable bugs, mostly on Windows 32-bit systems. One of which is simply fixed by installing Visual C++ 2015 redistributable. But you shouldn’t have to do that after the fact, right? Well, we are issuing a patch this week that should add the redistributable to the installation process for Windows systems and take care of a few pesky achievement issues that plagued some users. Also moving the achievement firing back into the main game as opposed to the menu where it sits now. This is due to the way Steamworks stores information (plus we didn’t want to bomb out Valve’s servers with all the data the game stores).
Lastly, if you troll SteamDB, you’ll notice we are tinkering with a DLC package. Due to the fact free games can’t have trading cards and we spent time making them, we are working on releasing the OWTD: Deluxe Upgrade DLC. This contains the soundtrack by Azucar, some wallpapers you might use, and extra death content! All this action for 99 cents! Because that’s the lowest amount Valve will let us charge. The Deluxe Upgrade will probably come out in mid-September after we clean up these bugs.
Again, thank you all for playing and stay tuned for more stuff!
