We really appreciate your continued interest in the Space Development Initiative. To keep you in the loop on our latest progress, we're launching this monthly report series to share updates and highlights from each month.
It's been over a month since the first playtest wrapped up. To bring you a richer, more complete, and fun interstellar trading experience as soon as possible, we've been working hard: we're addressing the feedback from the surveys one step at a time; the mining field system is nearly finished; and the development of new space stations never stops. A fresh batch of unique stations with new looks and functions has just gone live, and we'll be introducing them to you soon.

▶ Mining Fields
We've wrapped up development on the mining field system. In some star systems, major factions will put mining rights up for sale. You can buy these rights, take over a mining site, and start extracting resources. Refining the raw ore will boost its value—but if you'd rather not sell it, you can always keep the materials and feed them into your own supply chain.
A functioning mining field generally requires:
A mining platform. This is the basic structure needed to extract ores;
Mining drones. Their number and tier determine how fast you can mine;
A smeltery—to process and refine ores;
A transport platform—to deliver materials where they're needed;
Defense systems—to keep raiders from hitting your site;
Support modules. They give your mine the core utilities you'd expect from a standard space station.
▶ "Khione" and "Arms Research Institute" Space Stations
"Khione" Space Station
Located in Orbit 2 of the Aphrodite star system, Khione is an agricultural space station under the Republic of Phoenix, a nation rooted in agriculture and famous for its cutting-edge planetary climate engineering.
Most agricultural stations act mainly as export hubs, moving crops from the planet to markets across the star systems. Their storage and processing capacity directly affects how much produce can be exported.
Khione, however, stands out—not only does it have huge storage and throughput capabilities, but it also controls the global climate of Aphrodite-2. True to its name, Khione has turned what was once a scorching planet into a thriving, temperate world perfect for all kinds of crops.
"Arms Research Institute" Space Station
Situated in the Wisteria star system, the Arms Research Institute is a military outpost of the Aour Federation. It hovers silently before a broken, ravaged planet like a lone sentinel standing guard.
More than just a stronghold, the Institute is a key weapons manufacturing center. It produces advanced gear like neutrino particle cannons, warp torpedoes, and stellar core energy shields.

Room-Temperature Superconducting Ore
Room-temperature superconductors can carry electricity with zero resistance without needing extreme cooling. Traditional superconductors only work near absolute zero, which limits how widely they can be used. But if superconductivity works at normal temperatures, it could transform everything from energy transmission to maglev transport and quantum computing.
Fun fact: The extreme conditions of space can actually create natural superconducting materials. Certain astronomical events generate the heat and pressure needed for them to form. In 2020, U.S. researchers analyzed samples from 15 meteorites, and found that two of them contained tiny amounts of superconducting particles.
▶ Star System History
The mission arc for Wisteria is now complete. Though the storyline begins in multiple systems, everything eventually leads back to a catastrophe that struck Wisteria over a century ago in 2561, where a network of AI-controlled superweapons went rogue all at once, wiping out tens of billions of people and destroying what had been thriving, habitable worlds. Even now, Wisteria remains harsh and dangerous.
As you progress through the missions, the veil of history gently lifts, revealing truths long hidden.
