V0.08 Release Date Info

Greetings everyone!

After The End: The Harvest has grown so much from where it originally started all those months ago.
Thank you too everyone, for everything!

The negative, positive and all the inbetweens!

Your comments and suggestions are at the heart of what the development of this game is all about.

I have always dreamt of being able to develop a video game and share it with the world. I have worked on music, tv shows and more, but video games is where my heart and passion truely lies.

I never thought at the beginning of developing this game, that it would even make its way onto Steam, but through the support and motivation from you the players, this has become a reality.

Thank you!!!!

This is my first commercial game, and I have been working on it completely by myself from the beginning. I have received questions as too why I didn't begin development on Unity instead of RPG Maker, but the answer is pretty simple.

I had never used Unity.
My experience had only lay with RPG Maker, and a few other engines.
RPG Maker is also fantastic too actually make a game like this.
Its tools are a great foundation for the creation of an open-world game.
Taking into account my skill set at the time, dictated which engine I'd use to try and create my concept.

Flying a ship through space, landing on planets, hunting monsters and taking on quests. I personally have not seen many games that offer those options like After The End: The Harvest does and will do. Usually its only, questing without any kind of flight. Or space flight without any kind of questing. (If you get what I mean)

I want a world with no barriers, one which you can keep travelling through without every hitting any kind of barrier or "invisible wall".

If you see something, you can go there.
That was the beginning frame of mind for the creation of this game.

It might be no GTA 5 in terms of sales and player numbers, but I can truely say that I'm extremely proud of how far its come already.

Now that the game is published on early-access, and has a much more forseeable future, I will be doing what I can to commision some artists too help with the art side of things.

The game has reached a much more proffesional level, and I intend to continue pushing the limits of this project as much as I possibly can.

I might be developing, but Im also learning just as much. I will continue to expand my skills so I can create the best possible games that I can.

In saying that, I'm happy to announce that I will be relasing Update V0.08 on the 20th of September. V0.08 will usher in the next stage of development of the game, and makes it much close too the original vision

If you haven't seen the new trailer showing some of the changes you can check it out below-

Updates will still continue after the release of V0.08 in the form of bug fixes, and then large numbered updates such as V0.09 etc, which will include more features and playable content.

I'm still aiming for a Nov 1 release, but Im not going to make any gurantees.
The game should still be completed before we finish up the year.

V0.08 will be a full game, start to finish, but the true last areas, and portions of the game wont be playable untill after release. I'm doing this with the hope that people who play the game during early-access, have a reason to revisit on launch. I'm not going into it too much at the moment, but when you play/finish the game, I think you will understand what I mean.
(Dont worry, there will be a very satisfying ending which will stay true to the overall story, and make you excited for the full release)

Anyways, for everyone who took the time to read through this long announcement, thank you, and I hope you have a better understanding of myself, and the game.

Thank you everyone!!
