THE SHIP IS COMING BACK! IT’S COMING BACK!!

This is a project that has been a long time in the making and as we approach the launch of the title, we just wanted to chat a bit about what that means.

Much of how our studio has grown over the past few years has been influenced by The Ship and the launch of The Ship: Remasted is our first step in moving the franchise forward. A few players have been chatting on the forums and have been asking about what is coming next, so we wanted to take some time to have a discussion about it.

We created a project scope blog post earlier in the year, which outlines some of our plans, although the public-facing side of this is intentionally vague just now. We’ve all read game dev horror stories about promises not being met, so we’re being overly-cautious with these things because there’s always a degree of uncertainty in game dev (especially as an indie studio). However, we do have a number of future plans scoped out internally and we’ll be able to discuss these in more detail over the next few months as we get closer to the launch of The Ship: Remasted.

In the meantime, we understand that a large part of the future of the franchise will be down to the community that grows around it and we’re keen to help this along. We’ve been pretty open with players on our other projects and as a company we want to continue this policy of open communication.

With this in mind, we’d like to invite any fans of The Ship to drop by the forums and chat about the expectations you have of us as a company. Many of you have been involved with The Ship for far longer than we have and we’d love to hear your thoughts.
