One More Day Until Shoppe Keep's Update Launches (NOW LIVE)

Tomorrow will see some significant changes to Shoppe Keep. A lot of the changes were made to improve upon the progression of the core game. We are hoping that these changes really encourage players to keep playing as they unlock new and exciting stuff over time.

To achieve this we have enhanced the skill tree, which will allow players to buy new tiered items, encourage different classes to visit your shoppe, unlock the adventurer class and adjust how customers treat your shoppe with regards to profit margins. We are looking forward to seeing what skills players unlock first and how best to strategize with the new skill system.

We have made some additional changes to the customers too. A major change is an adjustment in what percentage of profit customers will purchased at, customers are now a little more financially strapped and won’t pay for a product at a 300% mark up.

There is also some changes to how customer demand for specific items is handled. As you sell a wooden shield to a customer, the game will remember what items they bought. If they still have it equipped when they return to the shoppe, they will choose not to buy another wooden shield. The items customers purchase will however damage over time, so they will eventually return to buy another wooden shield from you.

With the way we’re handling the skill tree, the quest system is now more important than ever before. To unlock skills in the skill tree you need K Points, these can be naturally earned by selling items and ordering items. However quests no longer offer money, instead they offer a significant amount of k points which you can use to unlock new skills. These quests refresh in the morning, mid-day and evening and it is highly recommended to keep checking to see if there are any quests you can complete with your current inventory.

I would also like to take this moment to welcome our new artist Andrea Di Bartolo who has been working very hard on a lot of the new items and the external outside area for Shoppe Keep. We hope you all enjoy the work he has put into the game.

Below is a list of things that you can expect when the update launches tomorrow:

- Refurbished visuals
- New spell
- Lots of new items to buy/sell/craft/gain
- Tiered order scroll
- 37 Skills/Upgrades/Unlocks
- Progression gameplay
- Barbarians with Santa hats
- Exterior City
- No man’s land unlocked (Backdoor garden)
- Vinyl player with up to 20 Original songs to spruce up your game play (10 special Christmas songs)
- Champion who finally learned how to gain XP and level up!
- A way to cut down dirt production from customers in half!
- Preventing plants from wilting
- Tier 2 class helmets and shoulders
- Customer eye colour
- Personal chest to store your items for later

And of course there are a few other things that have probably been added and even we struggle to remember what has even been added!

We do recommend that when the update launches, it would be best to clear your save data and reset the progress in the options menu. The way we’ve handled the skill trees may mean that there is a chance it will cause some issues for players using their old save data.

We have also adjusted some of the recipes. If a recipe earlier had requested a litre of Metal, it will require a metal bar instead. The same is done for gold too. To create a bar you will need 4x liquid metal/ gold.

Fuel however is a little different as the recipe will be: Metal Bar + Junk + Metal litre + Junk

And finally, we would like to stress that the tutorials will be thoroughly updated soon. We have some interesting ideas as to what to do with these tutorials and we understand they are out of date. However, if you are stuck in any way, we do have an awesome community who will be able to help in the forums and some very good wiki pages too. We have also added a Wiki link inside the game on the main menu too!

That’s it, tomorrow will be a big update and it’s just one more sleep before you all get to play it! Watch the video below for just a sneak peek of what is coming tomorrow.
