So, development project update. I have four projects I've been working on and jumping between, all of them are coming along fantastically and all should be releasing somewhere in the next few months, two of them should be releasing in the next few weeks. Today, I'm here to talk about the one that was started most recently but will also be out the quickest, "Red Haze."
I take on the challenge to do quick development cycles for games sometimes, and this project stirred because my partner in development, Rincs, is currently moving apartments for the next week or two. She is currently updating and redoing the spritework for another project we want to release by December, which I will talk about more in the upcoming weeks. However, in this downtime, I got into contact with another friend of mine with an interest in game development, who goes by the lovely name of Sandy. We decided to challenge ourselves to try and make a timed project and release it within a week of us starting development, and it's coming along swimmingly.
Red Haze is a twist on the classic Red Hiding Hood fairytale. We join Rockette, a sailor-mouthed squatting crack cocaine addict, who's off to see her dealer, Aunti G, to get her next pump. However, something stirs in the abandoned apartment she resides in. A voice begins to speak to her through the walls...
This project is having a quick development cycle like CYE did, but more-so I find partially due to me doing most of the music and spritework for the game and the focus on atmosphere and a cryptic world, as well as something else, this may be more directly tied to CYE than one might expect. It'll be out on a variety of freeware game sites this weekend, and I'll put it up on Steam Greenlight around the same time. I hope you guys enjoy, this will be our first release since CYE and it's another short atmospheric horror project. It'll be interesting to see what you all think with some of the changes in focus, tone, and things I've learned since CYE for a quick project like this.
More news on other projects forth-coming, and probably be 2-3 more updates on this projects here. You can also ask any questions or the like in the Discussion Topic: http://steamcommunity.com/app/377330/discussions/0/492378806378138312/
Also, Close Your Eyes: Goodie Bag DLC is on sale for 25% off again. I also can confirm it will be the same discount that will be available on it during the Winter Sale, don't plan to drop it more than that anytime soon:
