Update about our upcoming projects

The feedback to CYE has been very interesting to watch, and quite valuable. Many things to think about involving purposely vague narratives, multiple endings, key collecting, and more. Helpful also as we've already started and are deeper into our next couple projects.

Currently the two of us over at Yai Gameworks are working steadily on two other RPG Maker Horror projects, our main slightly 'bigger' game, "Tenebrous Hour of Watchful Eyes," is being pushed to be made on RPG Maker MV, and should release somewhere in 2016. A Giallo-Horror inspired game (following many of the tropes and stereotypes of 70s and 80s Giallo Horror flicks), featuring a black-gloved killer on the loose who first strikes in a theater, dismembering and tearing off the faces from his victims. The player gets caught-up in these murders, and has to solve it before it's too late, as the madman seems to have an interest in him. It'll be using completely hand-drawn environments, characters, and should be full with heavy shadows and colors using inks and watercolors. More on that next year.

We've made our current focus on a smaller project we were working on we've decided to make our last project with VX Ace. This project should release before the end of 2015, going by the name of, "Inferbito."

Inferbito stars a young woman who's fallen onto hard times. She's lost her job, grown distant from family and friends, and will soon be evicted from her home as the last of her funds run dry... However, she can't find it in herself to care. In a last-ditch effort to find herself and put closure on things, she returns to a place that made a lasting impression on her; the spot where she witnessed a man gruesomely committing suicide. Fascinated and almost entranced by the scene, and the look of absolute fear in his eyes, she's since has pondered long and hard of the cause and story behind his death. Though it happened many years ago, she for some reason has never been able to move past her fixation on this chance encounter, and with her life crumbling, finally decides to conclude what she feels she started many years ago... To learn what that man was so afraid of that day, and why he off'd himself as he did. But as she gets closer to the truth, something begins to follow her.

Heavily-inspired by an old niche 1998 horror game known as Hellnight, in the game you are followed by a singular monster who is constantly evolving and changing, all while meeting and working with an odd cast of characters, and looking for a buried truth.

All I'll say on the projects for now, Inferbito's Steam Greenlight page will probably go up a little before Halloween, and likely be available on Steam if it goes through in December. Meanwhile, here's a quick concept sketch for both the game's art style and the main character of Inferbito by Rincs:
