Hey guys!
Long time no update!
Well, it's finally done - update 0.64.0 is here to bring you autolooting of crafting materials, the new socket & gem mechanic, account-wide anomaly progression, money, and material sharing, and much more!
As always there is going to be some issues popping up - just let me know in the bug reports thread and I'll get on fixing them ASAP!
There are many reported issues that haven't yet been fixed because I've had trouble reproducing them to figure out what's wrong. I decided to release this update and then carry on with fixes while you enjoy the new features, rather than hold it for another week or two.
Anyway, that's it for now!
As always, thanks for all the suggestions & bug reports!
Here's the full notes for this update:
0.64.0:
Highlights:
- New crafting & item mechanic: sockets & gems!
- Monsters, bosses, and chests can now drop special Gems!
- Find gems and visit Gemma in The Chroncion, and she'll be able to add/change sockets on your equipment, as well as insert gems for you. For a price!
- Note: Gemma only appears after you've killed Captain Moore & completed the associated quest.
- Auto-pickup of crafting materials
- Crafting materials no longer take inventory space
- Crafting materials, gems, and currency is now shared across all characters automatically
- Anomaly progression and availability is now "account wide", so once you've unlocked it on any single character, all your characters can access it
Anomalies:
- Now account wide, so you only need to unlock the Anoamlies on one character
- Progression is done on each character independently as before, however you now have the option to skip ahead to the maximum reached on any of your characters, by using the elixirs sold in Tinka's Domain
- The character's and account's maximum Anomaly level can be found on your stat chart, near the bottom
- The special Anomaly elixirs are now available at level 1
- Note: These will be removed entirely in a future update and replaced with something more convenient
Crafting:
- Enchanting:
- Rebalanced material costs for enchanting, particularly for Legendary items
- Socketing:
- Added sockets and gems
- Sockets may roll on any item dropped after this update, and may be applied existing equipment by talking to Gemma in the Chronicon
- Sockets are of three types: Sphere, Cube, and Star, with Star sockets being more rare and having slightly different effects
- Gems are of the same three types and must be matched with the sockets
- Gems also come in 3 different rarities: Rough, Cut, and Polished (ordinary/enchanted/rare) and can be combined to reach the next level of rarity (up to Polished)
- Gems will have different effects in different types of equipment, based on the following equipment groups:
- 1) Helm, Armor, Boots
- 2) Amulet, Ring, Accessory
- 3) Weapon, Offhand
- Different item types may roll different amounts of sockets, with Armors rolling up to 3 sockets, and Boots only rolling 1
- Items always roll the maximum amount of sockets they can, the only difference is the combination of socket types.
- Note: Star sockets often count as more than one socket, so an item being able to roll 2 cube sockets, will only roll 1 star socket.
Crafting Materials:
- Are now automatically picked up like Crystals
- No longer take inventory space, and are instead kept in a separate self-managed inventory
- Can no longer be sold
- Changed their sprites slightly
- All of this also applies to the new Gems
Crystals:
- Now groups together if adjacent, creating large clusters of crystals, improving performance
- The floating numbers on crystal pickup no longer stacks and instead replaces eachother for less clutter
Enchants:
- Updated descriptions of many enchants to be more clear
- Bleed on hit: Now guaranteed to trigger, instead of having a 25% chance
- Explode on low health: Now deals Ethereal damage
- Frost Nova: Now releases a proper Frost Nova rather than a nova of Ice Spears
- Health Regeneration: Increased augment caps
- Mana Regeneration: Increased augment caps
- Updated the following Enchants to use percentages instead of direct values:
- Thunderous Orb
- Frozen Orb
- Molten Orb
- Voodoo Orb
- Angelic Orb
- Twister
- Hellfire
- Burst
- Kill Restoration
- Kill Recharge
- Kill Healing
- Gib Heal
- Gib Regeneration
- Frost Nova
- Holy Nova
- Death Nova
- Discharge
- Hurt Poison
- Hurt Burn
- Sludge Threads
- Low Health Explode
- Note: All your equipment should be automatically updated with the new enchants to reflect these changes, as well as unlocking them, should you want to scramble them. Please submit a report if you still have old versions of the enchants listed above!

- The value of equipment now grows with higher rolled enchants
- Augmenting equipment increases its value
- Gems & Sockets does not affect value

Performance:
- Improved dungeon save/load times
- Improved average fps on low/mid range machines
- General stability improvements
