Hello everyone and a very (late) Happy New Year to you all! =D
New Game - Tales Across Time!
Well, I promised more information was coming soon, so here we are. My new game Tales Across Time is nearing completion and will be launching on Steam Greenlight very soon!
So to get everyone ready, I’ll be posting screenshots and info on Twitter (@CriticalGamesAU) every day until the Greenlight page goes live! The first screenshot is up right now: https://twitter.com/CriticalGamesAU
Tales Across Time is a narrative-driven RPG experience. It was a fun opportunity for me to experiment with a different type of story and structure, but I really hope everyone enjoys it. I can’t release it on Steam without your help, so please follow me on Twitter and keep an eye out for the Greenlight page! I'll post on Twitter, Facebook, and here on the 8-Bit Adventures announcement page when it's ready.
Thank you very much for your patience and support! =D
8-Bit Adventures is on Sale!
As part of Steam’s brand new Lunar New Year sale, 8-Bit Adventures is 50% off - that means you can own it for just $5 USD! And that’s not all. You can also get the fantastic Remastered Soundtrack 20% off ($4 USD), or the Game + Soundtrack bundle 34% off (that’s only $7.91 USD)!
I know I’m the developer, but the soundtrack is really something special. If you haven’t checked it out, I highly recommend it!
I always say this (can't blame a guy for trying ;), but over 1000 people have 8-Bit Adventures' on their wishlist. In fact, despite all the people who purchased it during the Steam Holiday Sale, the wishlist numbers have reached a new record! Seeing all this interest in the game more than 8 months after release is amazing, so I hope this sale proves a great opportunity to take the plunge and start your 8-Bit adventure!
Finally, I always like to highlight the reviews that players write for my games. There’s just one this time, but if you want a well-written, comprehensive breakdown of 8-Bit Adventures' pros and cons, check out the full review!
If you are looking for an RPG that is mostly story over grinding this is the game for you…This is one of the best RPG's I've played in a while in terms of pacing. I'm unsure if it was just my approach to the game but it seems like the game is just well thought out in that respect. I have to conclude that this is one of the best turn based RPG's I've played on PC period. I love RPG's and would consider myself less forgiving of them than other games. The end credits of this game give thanks to RPG Maker XP. If this game was actually made in RPG Maker XP I would consider it a shining example of being able to overcome it's often criticized engine.
Later in 2016…
I mentioned this in my last post, but 8-Bit Adventures 2 (a temporary title, I promise ;) is in production and slowly making progress. Once Tales Across Time is out and settled, I’ll be devoting my full time to the project. So please look forward to it!
