Hello again, old and new space pioneers!
The past weeks have been stressful, due to things, like me cathing a pretty heavy cold (You don't know how much weight you can lose because no food stays actually inside of you, either way), intense police investigation (German Laws Enforcement is actually really quick when it comes to missing tax), Other Real Life Stuff (My Dad turned 50!) and things I currently cannot disclose. And now I'm back after this enforced creative break to speak to you about the near future!
1.0.30, where is it?
It's right here, in your hands. I am entirely abandoning the version count system and instead am creating a build system which increments over time. Currently we're at build 9455. Build systems also ease the patching process so you can receive updates faster and it assures then you even can play while steam is offline or has hiccups.
Also, the build system has the extra advantages of not stressing me for features at deadlines. Its a little like Douglas Adams said - I like the sound deadlines make when they swoosh by.
New Launcher!
"Again?" you might ask. Yes. Its time to bring the Launcher to current technology with actually getting current news from the web, events, short news One Liners, and more. This is the next step going to happen in a few days.
Station Interface
Its a mess. But I have worked something out quite nicely, going in line with the new inventory (Which gets another Rework as well as we speak.)
Price Change
Some people have foolishly talked about the end of the game when this 80% Weeklong deal hit. Fools! I am still new in the current Indie Game scene and my roots originate from an age where Indie Games still were scarce and Unity and other "Easy" Engines were nothing but Inside Jokes as to "Write CreateGame(LikeUT,WithDX11Graphics) into your IDE and execute).
Being new in todays scene also means that I'm learning about the market every day. Steam os oversaturated. But behold, before you go on and about, screaming "INDIEPOCALYPSE!" and scaring other people with frantic behaviour, Listen to me. A lot of games are produced for a wide audience - Sirius is kind of Special Interest. The few people that like exploration style games that does not spoonfeed you either already play EVE or own Sirius already. So I lowered the price to one Dollar (And it lowered the prices to the respecitve amount in your countries as well.).
I will be looking at the stats over the coming Sale week and if it works out and pays for the game I will keep this price. Sure, some of you might accuse me of taking advantage of people wanting +1s on their Steam Library, but, lets face it - Without Them I wont be able to continue working on this and would have to resort to creating shovelware.
On a Note - I'd rather die than give up on Sirius. I Might have my down phases but I always return. This is my lifes work.
New Audio!
Hah! You didn't expect more game Stuff to be happening down here, did you? Sirius Online has a new composer, creating an entire Scape of awesome music for the game, full-length music. Once they're done, I will make them available for you right here!
Events!
In the near future, there will be EVENTs held, like a bonus XP weekend or double Bounty. Keep a look out in the new launcher!
Finally - The End
This was it for the current roadmap. For now I bid you farewell until my next news post. See ya soon,
