Patch notes for Interstellar Rift ALPHA 0.1.56

FUNCTIONALITIES

- added PvE mode

  • ignores all player-caused damage and hacking to ships and players
  • NPC's like Skrill can still damage ships

- added "togglePvEmode" command to switch PvE Mode

- added "toggleCreativemode" command to switch Creative Mode

- added filter options in server list to sort by server modes

- target indicator in flight UI now flashes red when the player hits the target

- ships in death state can no longer be salvaged or upgraded

- added ability for the game to send engine crash dump files automatically (can be disabled by de-selecting "Allow anonymous data gathering" in the options menu)

SOUND

- added character movement sounds

  • footstep sounds
  • jump sounds
  • sounds are slightly different for male and female characters

EDITOR

- reworked and optimized most of the behind-the-scenes code for the editor (allowing for more improvements in the future)

- added hover text when hovering over props in interior mode

- added fly camera mode to ship editor

  • hold middle mouse or Left alt while moving the mouse, and WASD to move in the direction of the camera
  • is not limited in height position by the current floor

- editor now only loads all the prop images it currently needs instead of all of them all the time

- editor can now switch between orbit and fly camera using the ToggleCamera Hotkey (default: T)

- added editor camera movement hotkeys to options menu

- fixed bug where the player could click "through" some editor menus and unintentionally place a block

BUG FIXES

- fixed desync when a lot of collisions happened at the same time in multiple systems

- refactored drone long range asteroid finding so it doesn't lag the server anymore

- fixed bug where system was sometimes loaded twice

- server will now create crash dump file when server crashes, to allow better debugging

- server will now disconnect connected players on server crash

- optimized some behind-the-scenes code to increase world generation speed

- fixed bug where wedge shaped window would glitch

- fixed bug where left arm would disappear on some AMD GPUs

- fixed bug where lights would sometimes flicker on some AMD GPUs

- fixed bug where floor would twitch when looking down and jumping

- fixed crash in nuclear reactor

- fixed scroll speed in option menu being too slow

- fixed bug where menu button in grip would summon infinite menus

- fixed bug where tool store would scroll up when clicking an item

- fixed system name/id not showing int the log when is ship is added to a solar system through the store-o-tron rather than a command (like ship editor terminal)

- fixed rare crash in GRIP

NOTES

- Servers will need to be updated and restarted in order for players to join after the patch. No rebuilds are required for this patch.
