Time for another experimental patch! This week we are re-introducing the upgrade feature in the form of the modify ship option.
With this feature you will be able to modify your ship that you currently have in space by simply going to a ship editor terminal. Here you will see a list of all the ships in range that belong to you. Select your ship and now you can modify it. A new list of available resources is now displayed above the regular resource list to indicate how many resources are currently on the ship itself, how many are on the station you are on and how many are in your vault. Once you’ve finished modifying your ship hit the confirm modification button and your changes will be applied.
Make sure no one is aboard or else the ship will not be modified.
Additionally we are adding a new device called the gravitational anchor. This device is designed to make sure you can anchor your station in space and it will stay where you anchor it. When you activate the anchor it will make the station act exactly like all the other generated stations in the game where it will slowly float back to where you anchored it.
We’ve also added several small quality of life improvements such as when you buy your fuel from hydropex it will automatically put the hydrogen in the fuel tanks! Deployable defense drones can now be controlled directly from any terminal on your ship. You can set them to guard mode or you can direct them to attack individual targets including players.

To enable the beta branch, right click on Interstellar Rift in Steam, go to the beta tab, and select the "experimental IR beta patches" option.
We will have some test servers up and running to try out these new features until the patch goes live for everyone later this week.
Please keep in mind these will be wiped at the end of the beta period.
