Hey there!
It has been a busy month for Crucible! Here’s what we’ve been working on:

Graphics overhaul
We are continuing to fine tune the look of the game too: We added some environmental effects, reworked our foliage system and added a lot of cool new effects like explosions and bullet trails.
Here is a before-after comparison:

Tech Tree and Weapon Upgrades
The game’s progression will be centered around the Lab. In there, you can unlock new buildings and abilities with coins. You earn these after every game you play based on your stats, no matter if you win or lose.
Each weapon has it’s own tech tree, with lots of different upgrades and modifications. You can mix and match these mods to change the weapon completely. So far we implemented 5 different elements (physical, fire, ice, plasma, acid), a few different ammo types and some specialty modifications. For example, the default cannon fires a single bullet every 8 seconds, but after applying a few mods, it can fire multiple explosive shells that deal acid damage, in exchange for a bit longer reload time.
Here is a first look: (this looks really rough for now, but it will be improved soon <3)

Localization and other in progress stuff
Localization has been something we neglected until now, and we have a lot of catching up to do. Currently, around 80% of texts are ready to be translated, and I am planning to reach the 100% mark by the end of this month.
Another thing I started working on is a help menu in-game, to help you with weapon modifications, elements and enemy types. I want to implement this as I love Civilopedia in the Civ games, but it might not be necessary once I have a good tutorial implemented.
And beyond
That about sums up this month’s progress! Up next:
New enemies
Player abilities
UI rework
More visual upgrades
We have some really cool stuff coming! I’ll post some sneak peaks on Bluesky, X and Instagram, so be sure to follow us there as well! See you next month!
