Dear adventurers,
Can you feel the festive vibes approaching Vegonia? The winter festival is coming to the island. Santa-Boboo is wandering through the lands and the spirit of the World Tree blesses everyone with festive decoration, winter-content and also some bug-fixes. Please read below the patch-notes for our winter update:

Winter Festival update
- Exclusive items for the special occasion
- Winter Tree Skin
- Winter Tree Skin set: a hat, a top/jacket, a pair of pants, a pair of gloves, and a pair of shoes.
- Hit Boboo’s Ice cream
, Christmas Tree or Remains of Christmas Elfand get a Winter Tree Skin Scrip. - Open a Scrip to get a piece. Once you collect all pieces, they will turn into a Skin part.
- Winter mounts: Red-nosed Doe / Buck
- Hit Christmas Tree or Remains of Christmas Elf and get a Boy’s/Girl’s Winter Sock.
- Once you collect the Socks, they will turn into a Doe/Buck Jingle Bell which summons a Red-nosed Doe/Buck.
- Winter Tree Skin
- Snowmen (“Boboo’s Ice cream”) are standing all over the fields. You can bring them and decorate your base.
- Small Carts turn into Christmas sleds.
- Santa Boboo is coming.
- Christmas Trees and Remains of Christmas Elves are everywhere.
- Warden Tree turns into a winter Warden Tree.
- Vaults are decorated with Christmas decorations.
- Street Lamps turn into Christmas lamps.
Patch Notes
Improvements
- Google translation integrated on Chat (Beta)
- You can click on foreign dialogues in the chat to translate them into your language.
- If you click a translated text, it will show the original text.
- The target language is always the one you select in the launcher. (it is not possible to translate a text into another language than the game client language: namely one of the 7 languages ToL supports)
- Note that this feature is in Beta. Changes could be made at any time.
- Whisper
- You can whisper to someone with /w in the chat window.
- /w to switch to Whisper.
- /w character_name to switch to Whisper, setting a recipient.
- /w character_name blahblah to whisper blahblah to the recipient.
- Press the arrow keys (Up/Down) to see and select the recent recipients in Whisper.
- Click a character name to whisper to the player in the chat.
- You cannot whisper to yourself.
- You cannot whisper to players from different factions
- You can whisper to someone with /w in the chat window.
- Activity Log will now tell you when
- you are promoted/demoted in your guild
- your guild application is rejected
- you are expelled from the guild
- Warden Tree system improved
- Your buildings will not disappear, even when your Warden Tree is destroyed: the Tree remains as destroyed (note that your Warden Tree disappears if you did not pay tax)
- When your buildings were destroyed by hostile forces while the guild members were absent, the buildings will be automatically restored for free when one of the members logs in.
- While a war is ongoing (when you see “Faction war ends in 00 min”), destroyed buildings will not be restored. Still, you can go to your Warden Tree and restore the base for free after the war is over (The Activity log will tell you about the war)
- Alice will no longer show up for a notice.
- Free repair feature will restore the defense facilities including Walls and Towers.
- Character will tell you that you cannot build anything in the following areas:
- in
- on a place below sea level.
- Google translation integrated on Chat (Beta)
- Premium items can be stored in any inventory (i.e. secondary/tertiary/… inventories).
- The cooldown time of “I’m stuck!” is now 20 seconds.
UI/control improvements
- The mouse pointer control
- We have a new Mouse pointer (you will see a finger pointer)
- Show/Hide mouse pointer by holding CTRL.
- You can assign keys in ESC > Options.
- When the mouse pointer is visible, you can move items to the Quick bar.
- The mouse pointer tells your current coordinates when you open World map.
- You can pin over an icon (yourself or guild) on the world map.
- The categories of the Menu tab (on the right hand side) are reorganized.
- You can ‘pin’ the Menu tab by clicking the lock-up button.
- Added descriptions for the UI elements on the Menu tab.
- You can spin your character with the left mouse button in the Lobby.
Design/Balancing
- Undead monsters will not spawn in the Novice areas anymore, since they were tough for the beginners.
- Theft has been rebalanced
- Successful Lockpicking will give you 3 / 5 / 7 items as the mastery levels up (was 4 / 6 / 9)
- Cooltime for Lockpicking increases to 5 hours (was 3 hours)
- Fishing has been rebalanced
- When you are a beginner, you will get more useful items/fish (like Shrimps); less “unvaluable” items (like Booze). Conch shells are removed.
- You will have to use baits to catch bigger fish
- You can tear off Abandoned Shoes and get Small Leather
- Carpentry rebalanced
- You can earn more EXP when making a Blueprint
- The leveling has been improved, so that you can level up smoothly (i.e. without getting stuck)
- Less materials necessary for a Warden Tree sapling (Twig x3, and Leaf x4). Also the required level is 4 (was 5)
- Easier to craft a Market stall.
- Less materials necessary (Firewood x2, Raw Plank x4)
- The required level is 8 (was 15)
- Craftable on a Workbench (was in a Carpentry shop)
- Easier to craft some items
- Required mastery for Conch/Shrimp pressing is Lv. 0 (was 1)
- Livestock Medicine
- Required Level: 9 (was 16)
- Required Materials: Maggot x2, Hay x2 (was Ginseng x1 and Hay x4)
- Output: Livestock Medicine x1 (was x4)
- Less materials for Small Fence Pack: Firewood x5 (was Raw Lumber x4)
- Healing improved
- The relation between the mastery and HP recovery have been redesigned.
- The formulae have been redefined, so that a high level healer can recover more HP.
- Tooltip on a Bandage gives you more detailed information about HP recovery.
- Resources in some of the Novice areas increase up to 200%
- New craftable items
- You can cook two new drinks on a Countertop. They restore your Satiety and Stamina.
- Fresh Apple Juice
- Fresh Maggot Juice
- Leaf to Hay: you can craft 5 Hays with 9 leaves

Bug fixes
- Fixed a bug with non-latin characters (Russian and Chinese in particular) when
- writing something on writing material
- writing a message in Guild summary
- taking a note on a pin
- Fixed a bug that it was unable to build/place a building in some regions like Paradise.
- Fixed a bug that no message was shown to tell you the Warden Tree had been destroyed.
- Fixed a bug that no damage was taken during shield defense even when the Shield mastery was at level 0.
- Fixed a bug that generated a Loading loop when you opened Market while you held Shift (Bash)
- Fixed a bug that the bounty-icon of a criminal stayed on the world map even after the character died.
- Fixed a bug that allowed to pay tax even when the Warden Tree was a makeshift.
- Fixed a glitch that the “shadow” of a Bonfire cast a dim light before it was placed.
- Fixed a bug that Activity log did not report about what happened to certain items while you were absent.
- Fixed a bug that sometimes the tax expiry was not displayed.
- Fixed a UI glitch that the Inventory was not properly displayed when you equipped a certain kind of bag.
- Fixed a glitch that you could not hit a Fir tree in a close range.
- Fixed a glitch that some UI elements stayed on the screen when you opened the Craft-Menu (E) while unpacking a Scrip.
- Fixed broken terrain issues.
- Fixed a glitch that damage text (numbers you see when hitting) was displayed slower or faster.
- Fixed a glitch that your character looted an item when you hit F in Chat.
- Fixed a glitch that Skin items were shown as unavailable (still available, though) when you open Collections.
- Fixed a bug that the Activity log did not tell you about the tax pay/expiry.
