Greetings from the shores of Blackreef,

We want to thank everyone who has shown interest in our game since we opened our store page—those who follow us, leave comments, and provide feedback. We also want to give a special thanks to everyone who made videos about our game and tried our demo on their streams. The interest you've shown in our demo has strengthened our belief in this project even more, and we're now working with even greater enthusiasm toward Early Access.
A few weeks ago, we shared our Early Access Roadmap outlining what we plan to do. Now, we’d like to talk a bit more about what’s on that roadmap, share our current progress, and hear your thoughts.

Simulation Mechanics
Sunken Engine is fundamentally a simulation game, and our goal has always been to deliver familiar mechanics in a new and distinctive way. We're working hard to make the simulation aspect as satisfying as possible. More varied ships, new repair mechanics, and a wider range of jobs are all part of that effort.

In Early Access, you’ll need to obtain a license before you can perform any job. You'll visit the town hall, pay the fee, and then be authorized to work in that field. We're planning to expand the variety of jobs by adding things like a Blacksmith License, Electronics License, Signals License, Carpentry License, and Locksmith License.

Lovecraft Story
Although Sunken Engine is a simulation game at its core, it also contains Lovecraftian mystery and horror elements. In the demo you often encountered the Sunken Ones—dark, lurking creatures. In Early Access, you'll learn much more about them. You'll collect cursed objects to obtain "Nightmare Fuel," which will help you progress through the story and improve your abilities. Solving the mysteries aboard these cursed ships will require greater attention to detail.

Visual Changes
We’ve been preparing for Early Access with all the feedback we received from the demo in mind. As part of that, we completely redesigned the character art from scratch. We believe these new designs better fit the tone of our game and better represent us.
Upgrades and Customizations
The demo had limited shop upgrades and customization options. We're updating and expanding these so you’ll be able to grow your workshop even further and tailor it to your own style.
We're continuing to work on all this and more for Early Access. Thank you so much to everyone who has supported us and shared feedback so far.
