Hey everyone! Just wanted to give you an update on the progress of Mandated Fate.
The project is in full swing, with a lot of work and progress underway. I haven't been posting much on social media lately because I'm very focused on development. Two new people have also joined the creative team, working on writing and sound design.
Here are some of the main topics currently underway - I'll share more when things are more polished!
Thanks again for following the project!
1) Metahuman quality characters
This was often mentioned during playtests: the old characters were far from up to standard. To improve immersion, I'm working on characters using the MetaHuman plugin for Unreal Engine. I've made good progress, and I'm now capturing facial animations with live link
Just a WIP preview
2) Scenario
For the demo, we're created a dedicated story. I've started working with an experienced writer on this. This is a more condensed story, set in a specific neighborhood of the city, showcasing all the game's mechanics and philosophy. Expect multiple branching paths, political and personal interests, and moral ambiguity.

3) New Map
The map has been largely redesigned to improve the level design and atmosphere: the old map was too flat and sometimes featured uninteresting areas. In the new map, I've emphasized verticality, with the goal of making better use of space and enhance imposing architecture. I've also created new locations with distinctive elements to enhance variety. Many new 3D models have been created, to add more unique decor elements (+1100 to this date.
There are now several distinct districts on the Empire side, each with its own style while maintaining overall harmony. The demo will take place in one of these districts.
Overall, the map isn't bigger, but I believe space the is used more efficiently, and there are no more empty areas.
The subway has been redesigned to form a loop with four stations, featuring more suspension bridges to offer more interesting views and routes.
Also just a WIP preview, I don't want to share much until it's more polished
I hope the demo will be ready in the first quarter of 2026, otherwise I'll take the time needed to refine everything properly :)
