Version 0.6.5-demo is now live! This update introduces a major new gameplay system, a formidable new boss, a dazzling array of laser-based spells, and several quality-of-life improvements based on your feedback.
New Content & Features
New Perk System - Spices:
A new mysterious protagonist has been added to the dungeons!
Find him to acquire "Spices," which are powerful perks that can provide anything from minor bonuses to game-altering effects.
There are currently 20 unique Spices to discover, with more planned for future updates.
New interactable objects have been added to support the perk system:
Reroll Shrine: Don't like the perks you're offered? Use this to get a new selection.
Component Combiner: Mix spell components to generate a perk.
Nullifier: Remove a perk that no longer fits your build.
New Miniboss Encounters: Rooms now have a chance to contain a challenging miniboss. These are empowered versions of standard enemies, enhanced with a random spell Aspect for an unpredictable fight.
New Spells - The Laser Update:
Over 10 new laser-focused spells have been added!
Discover new "Thread" Aspects to create devastating combinations, including:
Elemental laser beams (Fire, Acid, and Lightning).
Spells that connect your projectiles with a laser beam.
The powerful Laser Anchor ability.
A new rare "Prismatic Barrage" Aspect has been added, allowing you to fire four lasers simultaneously.
New Boss - The Lightharvest:
A new major boss has been added. Prepare to face The Lightharvest and its intense laser-based attacks.
New Enemies:
New enemy variants that wield laser attacks have been introduced to the dungeons.
Visual & Quality of Life Updates
Improved Visual Clarity: All standard enemy projectiles and effects are now colored red to be more easily distinguished from your own spells. Boss and miniboss attacks will have unique colors.
New Visual Effects: Explosions and particle effects have been updated for a more impactful feel.
Component Recycler: A recycler has been added to the start of each level. You can now sell unneeded spell components for a small amount of gold.
Gatemorph Relocated: As requested by the community, the Gatemorph will now appear at the end of the level, after the boss has been defeated.
