Hello!
Well oodles of stuff has happened since next fest, and i’m happy to say that the coding time in my little goblin cave continues to be really productive.
But, after a bunch of looking at timelines and the state of the game and how the flow is feeling, i’ve decided to move release from the September 24th date previously, to November 5th.
This is about 6 weeks of extra time, and It’ll let me do all the balancing and quality of life stuff that I want to do to have it playing well for launch. There is the giant behemoth game that is GTA lurking not to far away from that date, but I still think it’s the best call for the game.
Progress
Because this is an update i’m also going to include more stuff i’ve been working on and how it’s looking
Tutorials
You might remember that i went very Dark Souls with the playtest and Demo re: tutorials. Now there’s a proper reactive system that teaches all the controls and tools. Oh also there's lore

Customisations
Every quest you complete gives you decorations for your room now. There are many quests.

Balancing and progress
Games you store on the shelf now now influence the cleaning powers and properties of tools. This is sorta how Mario Kart works with the different wheels/bodies/wings on carts. I’m still tuning it but i’m liking how it feels like you can focus on improving specific properties like surface area cleaned just by collecting specific genres.
This is a very hand wavy but im really really happy with how it's going. Aside from the cleaning feel this was the scariest part.

In this gif i've added a ton of stats to the surface area by putting multiple high rarity puzzle genres games in a row to stack bonuses. This lets me remove more dirt before having to go clean the tools
Parcels!
I’m bringing everything into the same room so you can now pick the mystery parcels from a stack of boxes. Everything now also has little tooltips so you can see exactly what you know about the parcels.

There's quite a bit of extra stuff that's going on, but i'm going to leave it there for now.
Thanks so much for following and commenting too! I'm doing my best to read as much as possible even if i don't respond to everything.
Cheers,
Adam
