Tiered Language support plan
Today I updated the steam page to show supported languages, moving from 30 target to 9.
Buuut this change doesn’t mean I do not intend to support the other languages originally listed.
Instead I'm splitting my localisation into goals, where the 9 are what I plan to ship with, and the remaining are what I'll be adding in post release with community translation support.
If you’d like to help translate, you can add your details here and i'll email you when ready <3

Why

I'm doing this change to make sure things don't catch fire and explode on the localisation front. I've been chatting with a bunch of devs and they have practically grabbed my shoulders and yelled at me to reconsider scope because it's always harder than expected.
This is the first project i've done full localisation on so i am following that advice. A lot of this game is json and running off spreadsheets so if i'm wrong about this and have overcorrected, it'll be pretty easy to add more :)
Here’s the languages i’m aiming to ship with:
English
French
German
Spanish
Korean
Japanese
Polish
Simplified Chinese
Traditional Chinese
And post launch / nice to have for launch:
Portuguese - Brazil
Russian
Italian
Arabic
Czech
Danish
Dutch
Finnish
Greek
Hungarian
Indonesian
Norwegian
Portuguese - Portugal
Romanian
Spanish - Latin America
Thai
Turkish
Ukrainian
Bulgarian
Swedish
Vietnamese
There’s been a bunch of lovely people who have offered to help with translation for both these languages and within the 30 originally scoped, so i have hope (availability and interest from volunteers remaining) that we’ll be able to add in more than the above pretty quickly.
There really isn’t a ton of text in this game beside some tutorials, lore and basic UI stuff. I planned this intentionally to allow wider language support on my bootstrapped budget
Thanks for taking the time to read this. Its never fun to announce the reduction of launch scope, but at least i can say it’s not a permanent decision 🙂
Cheers,
Adam
