Update Version 0.1.3.3 Character Customization, Save System Fix, And Audio Fix Up!

SAVES WILL NOT WORK BETWEEN PREVIOUS VERSIONS AND THIS ONE

You guys are going to really like this update. Some may be mad about the save games being broken again but trust me, it was worth it. I'll explain more after the patch notes.

Changes In Version 0.1.3.3

  • Fixed bug: Putting away the fishing rod while fishing will leave the line in the water and allow you to catch fish
  • Fixed memory leak in file loading ds_list
  • Added Character Customization Menu
  • Implemented Character Customization System
  • Re-worked player rendering system
  • Fixed Bug: Decal system saves decals by sprite index, changed to asset_index
  • Added water to collision checking when being knocked back
  • Adjusted sound positioning and falloff for footsteps, impacts, and weapon swings
  • Fixed Bug: Rain not playing audio when reloading
  • Changed audio for ambient noise (Sounds a lot better)
  • Added Idiotekque to the credits (the artist)
  • (Linux) Removed pop-up message when saving

Words From The Developer

This update fixes tons of major issues. I'll explain...

1. We replaced the horrible player art I had originally drawn up.

2. There is finally character customization (thanks to Idiotekque).

3. The save system is finally bullet proof. I had completely overlooked the fact that the decals were still saved by their real (their number) index instead of their string (name) index. This meant if I added a new sprite it would break the save system each time. That is now fixed entirely.

4. The audio has been fixed up and balanced a lot. I played the game for about 10 seconds and my ears were bleeding from the lack of balance in volume. I would hit a tree and my ear drums would explode. I spent a good 3 hours trying to balance the audio. I even modified specific features of some of the sounds such as the bass and treble. The footsteps of animals now is distanced correctly and sounds a lot more realistic. The players footsteps are much more diminished. Overall the game feels and sounds a lot better now.

I think everyone will get a lot closer to seeing what I've envisioned for the game now that we've fixed a lot of the outstanding issues. I will be posting a new trailer soon as well to show off how much progress the game has made.

Thanks for reading and as always, thank you for the support. ^_^
