Seabass Talks About This Update
This update will officially fix the issues regarding recently added achievements. It also fixes the balancing issue of never seeing rocks in the world. I tried to balance the spawn rate this time around.
Spike noticed my glued together weapon and damage system, and suggested that I re-write the whole thing to be more modular. He had a good point, the previous system required about 15 minutes of my time to implement a new weapon which is just absurd. Unfortunately I just never had time to re-write the entire system because I was so focused on pushing content every update rather than fixing behind the scene issues.
After about 12 hours of work on it I managed to write a much better system for weapon/knockback related code. It runs better (although you will not notice it) and takes only a moment for me to add new weapons now. I was also able to work in damage and knockback resistance. Each NPC is unique and we have plans to expand on the system for players as well. This will include wearable clothing such as armor and helmets (NOT HATS).
What To Expect In The Near Future
I have plans to work on the compass and expand it as more of feature than an item. We have plans of implementing a waypoint type system for navigating with it. You'll see it in game soon enough.
Hopefully I will be able to implement the armor system by the time the next update rolls around. We'll just have to wait and see though.
Youtube Permission
If you wish to do any youtube videos for Project Explore, I give explicit permission to do so with monetization on your video. I've received a lot of emails on this matter and so I'd just like to clear it up once and for all. I see nothing wrong with earning money by playing a game and having an audience watch. I could care less to be honest. I personally love and support anyone who takes time out of their day to record and edit a video that promotes a game. Especially an indie game.
Well thanks for reading and as always... We couldn't come this far without your support! So thank you for making a dream come true!
