So When Is The Next Update?
I'm not a huge fan of Early Access games that go off the radar for weeks at a time but I think it is important that I remain open and honest with everyone.
Spike (co-programmer) will be hard at work implementing multiplayer over the next 3 weeks and so that is our release date estimate (July 24th, 2015). Meanwhile I am working on implementing touch screen support for Windows Devices (except the phone, sorry, not a fan of the Windows phone). I may even be bringing Project Explore to the Android at some point but we'll have to see how that goes.
Explaining The Huge Delay
Multiplayer isn't something that can implemented over night. It's just not that simple. We are actually doing a entire seperate dedicated server that we will be distributing with the game as well as a master server. Anyone will be able to host their own server as a public server for anyone in the community to join via the server browser. We are going to do everything we can to support as many players as possible. The server is written in C# instead of Game Maker for the best possible performance. Of course you will need a decent bandwidth to handle lots of players but you shouldn't need a powerhouse PC just to host a small server.
I'll post again in another week or two with a status update to keep everyone informed and up to date with what is happening with Project Explore.
